Chapter 6 - : First Morning

. . .

Caspian's POV

"Isn't that crazy?! I knew they were real! Look! They look so pretty!"

I walked down the stairs as i sighed once again, entering the kitchen to see Eliza running around the table raising her story book up high to show them to Mom and Dad.

"Wah~ I can't wait to see one!" Mom exclaimed as she sighs dreamingly, i sat on the chair taking a banana from the fruit basket as i looked at Dad reading his usual daily newspaper.

"It's your first day of school tomorrow, right?" Dad asked looking up at me before looking back at his newspaper.

"Yeah.." I sighed throwing the banana peel on the bin before standing up again, i bet i'm gonna be busy these days now that's it's finally the first day of school tomorrow..

"Oh? You're going to meet them today?!" Eliza sprinted towards me as i looked down at her.

"No, i'm just going to visit the beach today.." I uttered as i exited the house, walking my way towards the streets as all the villagers were outside gossiping about the sea people.

This is going to last the whole week for sure..

I sighed as i arrived at the beach, normal day it is again. I looked below to see the villagers preparing foods and placing tables on the sand for the Welcoming Party.

I hummed as someone came up behind me wrapping their arms on my shoulder.

"Good Morning, Caspian!" Jacob greets with his usual signature smile and bubbly greet as i smiled back.

"Morning.." I mumbled as we both looked down again. "Did you surf earlier?" I asked as he chuckled.

"Nah~ You were resting and so am i! Surfing is boring without you." He cheekily giggles as i chuckled shaking my head at his remarks. "And look what i found!" He exclaimed shoving a book on my face.

He handed it to me as i stared at the cover.

'Ena'

"Ena?"

"Ena!"

I narrowed my eyes as i opened the first page.

'Ena is a special sort of skin, which allows the user to breathe in water, often when their skin cracks, they need to get in water and preferably salt water, it was said that only the descendants of the Sea God could have the said skin.'

"Descendants.. of the.. Sea God..?" I frowned as Jacob quickly nodded.

"They're the Famous People from the Sea!" He exclaimed as he flips to the next page. "And look! Sea People can hibernate too!" He jumps up and down in excitement.

'There's a specific date for an evening to eat to your hearts content, which after, you can't eat until the hibernation so your Ena can thicken and eventually fall asleep.'

"That's.." I trailed out.

"Very cool!" Jacob continues as i hummed.

I looked up from the book staring at the calm ocean waves as the memory from yesterday came back again, i bit my inner cheek before taking a deep breath.

'Coraline.. Where is she..?'

⊱ ──── ஓ๑๑ஓ ──── ⊰

"Coraline! Are you done!"

"In a minute!"

The said girl quickly wore her shoes, being rushed as she internally panicked.

"Ugh! Why do we have to be early for the party?!" Coraline groans as her older sister sighed staring at her.

"Because we have to!" Celine, Her older sister exclaimed as they finally exits their house.

"But, we don't even know if Father is there yet." Coraline grumpily pursed her lips as they walked down the stone pathway before swimming up the surface.

"Oh, shut it."

Coraline's POV

I'm Coraline Maurea, A human from the sea!

"Hurry up, Coraline!"

"Coming!" I exclaimed as we rose up the water before walking up the shore. I looked around as we sat on the log for awhile waiting for our clothes to dry off.

After a few seconds all the water from our clothes finally dried up, it dries quickly because our Ena absorbs the water from the drenched clothes. Speaking of Ena.. we can manage to stay in the surface for 12 hours.

But our Ena, cracks and dries whenever we stay in the surface for 13+ or more hours and we'll eventually have difficulty to breathe and possibly die. We can also soak on a tub full of salt or sea water to save ourselves.

If there's anything available..

"That must be the people!" Celine whispered-yelled as we peeked from the large rock covering us at the moment.

"Are you sure we should go?" I whispered, cautiously looking around since we're still aware. "It's our first morning.. is it really safe..?" I added as i held on her sleeves.

"It looks like it.. look at how peaceful they are! They're throwing a party for us!" Celine stated as she narrowed her eyes. I hummed as my gaze landed on a certain person.

My eyes widened as my dark blue eyes sparkled once again. His dirty blond hair and tanned skin, his emerald green and sharp looking eyes stood out the nearby street.

That feeling.. That strange feeling lingered around me again as i almost feel myself tempted to run towards him and shout his name.

"Familiar?"

I snapped out of my thoughts as my head whipped towards my older sister giving me a teasing look as i sent her a playful glare before looking away.

"I know that look." She giggled as i scoffed, i don't even know him.

"Yeah yeah.. we really are sisters." I whispered under my breath as i turned around to see a familiar white haired boy with crystal blue eyes.

Speaking of eyes, all the descendants of the Sea God have identical blue shades of eyes since birth and it's one of the things that stands out on our species.

"Good Morning, Skipper." Celine greets with a small smile, Skipper Ridley.. our neighbor and the famous sea creature lover of the Faial Island.. underwater.

"Good Morning Celine! Good Morning Coraline!" He greets back with his signature smile, a close eyed smile with his glistening white eyelashes, oh.. he's also called the Pearl of the Sea.

He really is the Pearl of the Sea..
