"Pfft. Hahahahahahahaha!" Adonis kept laughing as he held his stomach. "Ha-ha-ha. It must have been very funny, huh?" I said and rolled my eyes as my face turned red due to embarrassment.
The wind from earlier wasn't because of my mana, but because it was windy. My face even brightened up as I opened my eyes only to realize that I wasn't even able to form a small green light at the tip of my wand.
Adonis saw how I reacted, which is why he's laughing at me again. I wish I could just erase his existence from this world so I wouldn't feel this type of emotion. I hate that man so much.
"Princess, I've been looking for you all over the place!" I turned to see who it was and saw that it was Noah. Beads of sweat were rolling from his forehead down to his cheeks. It seems like he was running all over the academy to look for me.
I smiled when I realized how much effort he put it just to look for me. "Why were you looking for me?" I asked as I walked towards him. He wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand and said, "It is my duty to serve you, Your Majesty. I should be with you all the time to keep you safe."
I heard someone clear his throat, and the only person aside from Noah and I is Adonis. I turned my head to look at him and his face clearly showed how displeased he was because of Noah's presence. "Are you not going to show your respect to me?" Adonis said, putting up a boundary and showing how he is much superior than Noah.
Noah simply smiled and said, "My Lord, it is an honor to be in your presence. But as far as I can remember, during the opening ceremony of the academy, it was said that each and every student here in this place is equal and no one stands above or below another, which means that one's status outside this academy does not matter as long as we are still studying here."
Adonis rolled his eyes in annoyance and mumbled something under his breath. I couldn't make out what it was, so I decided to ignore him.
THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW:
"Nye nye nye, whatever. That scoundrel interrupted us and even dares to lecture me about that," Adonis mumbled and clicked his tongue.
'How annoying.' He thought as he looked at the two of them speaking with each other. "We'll be leaving now," Noah said and walked away with Krishiella.
Noah felt a sense of superiority when he saw how Adonis' face looked because Krishiella chose him over the son of the duke. 'Shall I give it a shot? I might have a chance on the princess.' Noah thought as he smiled.
"Why are we leaving, though? He was still teaching me," Krishiella said as she walked next to Noah. "O-Oh, um... W-Were having snacks," Noah said, making an excuse just to take the princess away from Adonis. "What are we having?" Krishiella asked with sparkling eyes.
'I'm really craving macarons right now. I wonder if they serve them in the cafeteria at this hour,' Krishiella thought and smiled.
"I bought some macarons earlier. They're still in the cafeteria since I had them reserved earlier," Noah said and smiled at the princess. Krishiella walked happily to the cafeteria.
She thought that Noah must have read her mind, but in truth, Noah just bought the dessert that was left. 'She must like macarons so much. I'll take note of that,' Noah thought and smiled while walking behind the princess.
When they arrived at the cafeteria, Noah took the macarons and brought them to the table where Krishiella was. Little did they know, somebody was watching them as they were eating together.
The lady walked towards them confidently and stood in front of their table. "May I join you?" The lady said as she smiled at them. "Of course, Elliana!" Krishiella said and looked at the chair next to hers. Noah stood up and pulled the chair for Elliana which made the lady's heart skip a beat.
'Now what? How should I talk to him?' Elliana thought nervously as she sat on the chair. Behind the confident demeanor that she was showing them, she was actually very nervous deep inside.
"Wow, what a coincidence! You're here, too," a man who just arrived said as he plastered his famous smile of his face. Krishiella grunted and rolled her eyes. "Wow, really. What a coincidence," Krishiella said sarcastically as she looked at Adonis who was smiling from ear to ear.
Noah sat back on his chair and looked up to see Adonis' face. "Oh, do you want me to pull the chair for you, my Lord?" Noah said as he smiled innocently at Adonis. The duke's son somehow felt insulted by the tone of his voice. "Oh no, I am perfectly capable of doing so myself. You must be famished. Go ahead and continue eating," Adonis said and glared at Noah while smiling as he sat on the chair.
The two glared at each other, while the ladies were confused as to why they're so hostile to each other.
"Brother, please behave yourself," Elliana said as she glared at her twin. Adonis rolled his eyes and took one macaron from Krishiella's plate. "Lord Adonis," Krishiella said with a warning tone as she smiled at him. "Yeah, thanks for this," Adonis said and winked before putting the whole thing in his mouth.
"Seriously, you---" Krishiella paused when she realized how her behavior changed again. She sighed and said, "Never mind."
"Princess," Adonis whispered as he leaned his face closer to her. "What now?" Krishiella said, showing her annoyance. Adonis chuckled softly and said, "You've got something on your cheek."
Krishiella scrunched her eyebrows, confused. She touched her cheek to see what it was, but before she could even touch it, Adonis removed it himself. "Not there. Here," he said as he removed the cream that was on her cheek.
"See?" He said as he showed the cream that was on his thumb and smiled. Krishiella was about to say something, but she could even let a word out, her eyes widened because of the next thing Adonis did.
He licked the cream from his hand and smiled.
"Sweet."
