Chapter 4 - Cavern Chapter: Outcome A

[You enter the cavern]

Author: "Y-Yeah, y-you're right. If anything, disobeying the one who is creating the story, is not such a GREAT idea after all."

The author took notice of your appearance. He raised his voice.

Author: "Hey, reader, you're not a dog anymore!"

You sneaked a peek at yourself. You indeed are not a dog anymore, just like the Author said. Instead, you noticed that you're a lot taller than you remember. You took a look at the appearance and shape of your body. It's neither feminine nor masculine, it's neutral. Your face is covered by the bright white light that is, YOU, the reader. And your skin color is matching the dark hue of purple. You hope to yourself that it doesn't draw confusion to the people of this, world.

You and the Author walked over the surface of the cavern. Rocks and a few green gems scatter from one left side to another. The Author's brown eyes glimmered at the stunning sight of the gems and you decided to walk towards them.

Author: "Wow, these gems sure are pretty. Maybe the Narrator did a better job than I thought?"

You: "Author, it's just the beginning of the story. I'm sure there would be more awe-inspiring things other than this."

The Author tilted his head back and replied to you with a soft tone.

Author: "Yeah, you're right. Starting in a cavern is uninteresting though. Let's just continue in this area, and find another way out, okay?"

The Author walked away from the beautiful green gems, and you followed him. The sight of the dark cavern grows darker to your vision. You could hardly see anything from two centimeters off from each other. The Author gave off his idea to you, for the Reader to decide.

Author: "Reader, it's getting really dark in here. How about we grab one of those glowing gems, and maybe the luminance might assist in walking along this cavern. You never know what dangers lurk here."

[You're faced with yet another decision. To walk back and grab the gem, or to continue on the cavern without a light.]

1. [You decided to continue on the cavern, without a light source.]

Author: "Y-yeah, alright. If... you say so."

You couldn't see anything. Just pitch darkness, that's all you could see. Nothing, but darkness. Yet you still felt like you're walking along the ground. As you continue on with the Author, you felt a large steep over your feet. You thought it was just a small minor bump or pebble that's in the ground and you continue to trek forward.

A few hours have passed, and you still haven't seen a single smidge of light at the cavern. The Author's voice echoed over the vast dark tunnel.

Author: "Reader, I can't see you."

And you can't see the Author. The darkness is so strong, that you can hardly see anything. You stepped forward and decided to walk even more through the dark cavern. Suddenly, you took one step further, and you felt a giant force push you down. The Author screamed as well, as you greatly descended.

Author: "AHHH! What the hell?! What happened? OH no, we fell off a cliff. Well, that was quick, Reader. I guess this is where our journey ends. It was so brief too."

You felt a giant breeze blow over your face, as you quickly descended to your inevitable death.

Author: "We're going to #&$%^ DIE!!!"

Next thing you know, you hear a splat and your vision turned to complete darkness. Your journey ended, and you're adventure is shortened.

[Ending 2. Darkness.]

2. [You decided to grab the luminescent gem and continue on.]

Author: "Wow! I'm amazed, the gem really lights up the entire place, doesn't it?"

The Author walks along your left side, as you hold the bright luminescent gem in front of your face. You stepped forward, walking along the cavern. The darkness fades away as you adventure on through this path. Suddenly, you felt a small bump near your two feet. You saw a large ramp leading downwards to a deep ravine. You tilted your head to your right, to see another tunnel, with a few gems illuminating the entire area. The Author whispered.

Author: "Yikes. If we didn't have that gem, we might've died. Let's go to the right pathway, reader. It seems a lot less deadly than that steep ramp over there."

You nodded your head and walked to the right pathway, which is illuminated by bright purple gems. You're surprised that there isn't a single monster located here. You assumed it because the Narrator is hard at work, developing his world. Thanks to your great decision, you and the Author could see the Light of Day just centimeters away from you. Trees, bushes, and rivers. Just a few meters away before you reach your true adventure. But right as you step foot, the Narrator yelled.

Narrator: "Finally, half of the world is constructed. It felt like a true challenge, in all honesty. HUH?! Author, Reader, you managed to exit the cavern?! CONGRATS, because you're never coming back there."

You and the Author tilted both of your heads behind, to see the entrance of the cavern blocked off, by a steep pile of boulders. Luckily, you ran out in time, just mere centimeters from getting suffocated. The Author raised his voice.

Author: "Yeah, I admire the land you have in front of us. But just to notice, there wasn't a single monster located in the cavern. Usually, there SHOULD be at least ONE monster, right?

Narrator: "Ah, well.. you see. Fine if you two are really craving for a monster, how about you fight, a fire-breathing dragon that came from the darkest depths of the underworld?"

After one second, you saw a giant red dragon, with a few lines of yellow piercing through its wings. You then saw its large tail, and it's dark crimson eyes. You have no weapons, how will you and the Author play it out?
