Chapter 19 - Feels Like I'm Somebody Else, I get overwhelmed

Pulling her sword away from Aydens throat, Luna continued smiling because for once in her life who she was did not affect this person's attitude towards her. Who would draw a blade and attack an Ember, without an hesitation knowing who she was. 'he's a weird guy, but i like it!'

Ayden placed his blade back into his sheath, it finally slammed home comfortably into its housing completely. The feeling he got from Luna was one of happiness, instead of fear or malice that he had felt mir moments before which left him with only one question. 'If it wasn't her, then who could it of come from?' but instead of dwelling on it he just put on a smile that only came because Lunas smile seemed rare and beautiful yet also infectious.

"I don't know i think we do a pretty good job of saying hello! It's just a dance of unconventional swords, to get the boogeyman! hahaha"

- " A dance of blades between friends of an unconventional nature, i take it?" the turquoise in her eyes becoming even more exuberant as her smile spread to not only Ayden, in the hallway.

While Ayden enjoyed the company of Luna as his eyes caught sight of the clock along wall he saw that he only had a few minutes before his class set off. To be late was always bad when it came to being new because it made people have to wait on you, and also being ranked last was already bad enough for one day.

"While i'd love to talk more with such a lovely existence such as yourself, i must be getting back to my class i believe we must go hunting for one of the boogeyman's henchmen. So i must be off, but we should meet up and spar sometime, i can show you my kung fu! hahaha"

- "Wait is today your first step onto the plains, with the new recruit's class? If it is stay safe, I would like to see this kung fu you are so proud of. Especially if you can do it without passing out this time!"

The playful wink she gave him sent a strange shiver through Ayden's body, making his mind stop for a second. 'I could... see myself taking for her'

Yet without letting this get in his way he was off with a wave and a smile at Luna, reaching the departure point with only a few seconds remaining before the departure point. Upon arrival he noticed that he wasn't the only one that was just getting back, or the only one that might of vomited because of today's trip onto the plains of hell. The difference now though was that Ayden felt like somebody else, because he was calm and ready having done everything he could to prepare for today's event.

~ " Good you are back,... and you seem to of pulled yourself together. This is good because you are the only one that seems to of been able to"

Noticing Ayden's slight smile, and his calmer demeanor compared to earlier Tah'ler felt a bit more relaxed as he walked up towards him since his recruit seemed ready to take on todays tasks. The rest while not entirely panicking they weren't exactly looking ready for the hike on the planes, but hell waits for no one and it was time for them to set off.

...

Like the day before as the large gates opened that lead out of the guild courtyard into the plains of hell, haze beast attacked. Just like before it was a pack of flame Hounds.

The flame hounds biggest strength was their numbers, or ability to create more of themselves in such a short time some would say.

While scientists have long since figured out that the haze beast also had the ability to "give birth", they didn't know how long it took for each one to grow inside its host parents body or how long it took to reach an age in which it could do battle. Many figured it would be about a month because at certain times the beast numbers would drop for a bit, then with out warning an increase by a large number would occur.

Today was considered a lower number compared to other times, and the recruits didn't have to take part in today's subjugation. They watched as the gate keepers with quick efficiency dispatched each flame hound that set foot past the gates opening. Unlike yesterday it took only minutes, as compared to the nearly half hour it took the recruits to get the job done.

With the beast defeated and the cores collected by staff, Gene came up to the recruits with his ever present tablet in hand.

- "Ok i hope you all have your badges today, they should be kept on you at all times. I'll be sending your group assignments to your badges, you just have to go to the corresponding color on the walls to meet your teammates. Their is to be no switching your groups have been chosen to create you best chances of survival, for the whole group not just the lowest ranking ones."

With a few taps on the tablet the chime was heard once again from their badges, this time one of four colors were seen glowing along the strange design around the edges of each recruits badge.

Ayden looking at his saw that it was lit up purple, and looking around saw that the meeting spot was closer to the gate.

While the light was purple it was the words underneath that gave him pause, it had the same design as the badges did but seemed to make out a word.

- "Squad Ormr, you're first to set out. You have been grouped together on the basis of mobility and flexibility. While strong individually, together you have the ability to move faster and more efficient than the rest; in that you become unbeatable. Like a dragon your squad is named all things are your domain, so move out Tah'ler you have command"

With that squad Ormr set off, taking their first steps onto the plains of hell. Tah'ler taking point, setting a slow pace so the recruits could get all the nerves out before they met their first obstacle.
