Chapter 19 - Fleeing the Castle [1]

-The month of Wynnethel, the 1st, year ATC 3,527-

With a twinkle in his eye, denouncing his excitement at the prospect of adventure.

"Now, I know you won't have much control currently over the new connection you must be feeling with The All, but your people's ability-"

"Mou'Tai.. We call it Mou'Tai." Ila'Mu quipped, her shell-shock reverting her mentality to that of the piety instilled upon all Elvi.

Heiracles's slight smirk being buried in his grizzly beard going unnoticed by Ila, as he sighed inwardly with the stray thought, 'I could do with a shave..', as his hand reached up to scratch at his chin briefly.

"Anyway, be that as it may.. 'Mou'Tai'. I have noticed this Power, it is similar to my peoples own, being able to feel and understand the manipulation of elements on an intrinsic level. But your 'fine-tuning' will be built up over time. For now, all we need is that intrinsic side of things, I will help guide your path down the cliffside, do not worry."

Urgency entering his voice as deep gravelly voices could be heard comverging upon his destroyed bedchamber door, "Now, we must go without any further delays. You'll be able to learn the intricacies of your newly awakening Power with time"

'As long as we survive.. ', he added mentally.

Grabbing her hand in his, encompassing hers, with the size and strength difference between them she had no power to stop him from pulling her over the balcony railing with him as he jumped.

A squeak of fear leaving her lips that was lost to theas she felt her weight being pulled along behind him as of a ragdoll, quickly clamping her mouth and eyes shut so as not to see the extreme height of their fall, nor to alert the guards coming to check the bedchamber, since their kin had been unresponsive to their calls and taken much too long in their task.

Not feeling the rush of wind they expected, Ila opened her eyes only to see the looming ground far below but before her fear can take a grip of her a soft chuckle is heard beside her and as she looks over she can see Heiracles beside her still holding her hand. Unlike his mirth-filled chuckle, though, sweat could be seen starting to form on his brow, "That look on your stoic face? Priceless.", the words leaving his mouth sounding strained. Sighing, he said further, "Air is, by far, my least attuned element, this may be a bumpy ride.. "

However, there was a new, almost intuitive feeling permeating her consciousness.

It. Was almost similar to her connection with Life Essence..

If she just reached out..

Yes, she could Feel the sphere of Air Element that Heiracles was maintaining around them as they continued to descend further away from the castle downwards towards the City of Kilypso, she didn't understand why, but she felt certain that of she tried alittle harder she could almost see...

"Don't, you will exhaust yourself trying to overextended your Control before it blooms, and I need your help managing this pocket of Air.

Glad to see that you so easily managed to make a connection with the ring, though.. ", continued in a mutter since his focus was already focused on bringing them down to the ground below safely.

"All you need to do is guide your awareness towards the bubble itself and superimpose it upon it." With that being said his attention wholly shifted back towards maintaining their safety and moving them further and further down as quickly as he could while trying to remain relatively close to the cliffside so as to prevent as much of the wind battering them as much as possible, not even paying enough attention to see if she follows through with his instruction.

"You can do this, Sister. You must.. ", Ila hears the soft, quiet-spoken voice of her Brother from the depths of her hood.

Hearing her Brother, her eyes firmed and, knowing she was feeling in the dark of the immense boon Heiracles had bestowed upon them but having no other choice, she moved her Awareness into the sterling ring placed upon her finger and the vagueness from previous moments of Feeling cleared somewhat.

She could now tell that he wasn't so much "moving them down through the Air", but "pushing his way through the currents" which, in turn, created the bubble of calm space around them.

Even without entirely understanding why, this felt "wrong" to her and, without thinking, reached out, and around, his own Weaves that were, essentially, breaking and the subsequent consequence being that it was making their journey downward even harder. As she did this, instead of "pushing her way through" she "guided" the winds around them which in turn gave them a pocket of Air dense enough to stand on instead of the frozen "floating" his method had sustained.

A look of shock crossed his, not expecting her to take full control.

This couldn't have come at a better time, though, since he barely had time to register this turn of events with a grin on his before he immediately had to redirect his attention above them.

For he could see a flickering Fireball closing in on their location from the previous balcony they had just vacated.
