-The month of Wynnethel, the 1st, year ATC 3,527-
"Are you insane?!", looking and pointing down the sheer cliffside below them, Ila'Mu screamed at Heiracles before realizing her volume with a surprised look along with covering her mouth while her near-transluscent skin darkened to a blue-grey around her cheeks.
Looking up into Heiracles's face, she could see a hint of amusement which only seemed to darken her mood further. Taking a deep, level breath to calm her agitated nerves, she continues
"I've only ever levitated as high as I am now. Never" looking down the side of the castle, only ending in a sheer cliffside some thousand kilometers or so down before seeing the rooftops of the nearest houses snug up to the cliff with the city spread out from there, all the way to the lakefront off in the distance more than twice as far out as down, gulping, she looks back at his face apprehension stressed on her face, "Flown", the word heavily stressing the difference between the two.
His returning grin flips upside-down for a moment before returning, "Tell me, Ila. How exactly does your ability work? But. Before you answer that, let me explain The All, the ability that the more talented amongst we Duon can tap into.
The All can be sensed by nearly all Duon, but not Tapped, first and foremost, unlike the little I know of the Elvi ability, or the Wizarol's ability to seemingly control time, so do not assume that any of us can become some 'all powerful force of nature'. There's only two people I've ever heard of being called that, my mother, and. And my father.. ", getting lost in thought at that sentence his voice trails off for a moment before shaking his head and coughing into the inside of his elbow to clear his throat.
"Anyway, Wielders' of The All have, overall, four archetypes with many, many others branching from a mixture of them, to specific types." Raising four fingers, before pulling the pointer down to his palm, "Fire, " putting the middle down, "Earth, both of which Males of our species have a higher affinity towards and, " pulling down the ring and pinky fingers respectively, "Water, and Air, which Females have a higher affinity towards. Earth Masters tend to be good builders, quickly understanding the strengths and weaknesses of structural integrity. Water Masters tend to be well attuned to healing and can adapt fluidly to most any situation.
Since my Father gifted myself, my wife, along with the rest of my siblings and their spouses that were Banished, with rings of the Elvite our group found traversing the Desolate Mountains when we found this location and established ourselves on this side of the continent, we have all lived long, long lives. much longer than we, as Duon that have up to a two hundred and fifty year life span, rightly have any right in claiming.. It has been more than threw and a half millenia that I have lived. In that time-frame, I have learned a great many things."
With that he walked back into his bedroom from the balcony they were standing on, walking over to stand beside his late wife's side of the bed. Ila'Mu watches him bow his head slightly, muttering words she couldn't make out, before his hand dives down into her chest, and, with a squelching sound his fist was to his chest as he walked back out onto the balcony.
Ila'Mu watched the heart-core finalize it's morph before her eyes from the living organ it was initially. She must have recently passed in the night, for the Core to not have finalized until now. A gasp escapes her lips,
"Y-Your wife! Why would you-"
"You saw the same as I.." Glancing down as the Heart-Core, "My wife is long enough dead that her heart was almost finished it's crystallization into a Core, Ila.. But it is the perfect thing we need at this moment."
Watching the Core, it took Ila'Mu completely by surprise when he crushed it, encasing it in Fire, while simultaneously drawing upon Earth to pull out some metallic substance that came as a stream from the bedroom doorway that funneled into the sphere of Fire as he compressed and compressed the alloy and Core. Unable to take her eyes away, Ila'Mu realizes belatedly that he is, quite literally forging a Duonite ring moments before he finishes and finally draws upon Water, which there is a strand of also coming from the bedroom, to help it cool quickly.
Glancing at her as he is finishing he says, "It is much easier to Cast an element by drawing upon that element than to create the element before Casting"
Walking the few feet they were apart towards her, he releases the Casting, the now finished ring dropping into the palm of his hand.
"Here," moving his hand towards her, the small ring lightly between his thumb and pointer fingers. "Take it, she doesn't need it anymore. Plus, this will help both of us out exponentially."
