Chapter 111 - Papa Stole It!

"I-I will kill you!"

"Mrs. Vorste!"

"Madam Vorste!"

"Watch out!"

Elders panicked as they saw Elder Ario sprinting towards Maeve with a sword in his hand. Some tried to stop him but since they were too far away, and Elder Ario was one of the strongest Elders in the Sect, they couldn't do much.

*Clang*

But to everyone and the most, Elder Ario's surprise, Maeve met his sword attack with her own sword. Looking at her indifferent expression, it felt like she was having zero problems in defending the attack into which Elder Ario had put all his strength.

*Thud*

Maeve pushed Elder Ario back down and chuckled,

"Seriously, out of all the possible ways to attack me, you chose sword?

Fool"

"Y-You Bitch!"

Her mocking words only acted as salt on the injury and already fuming Ario shouted in rage and started chanting his attack spell but unfortunately for him, Maeve defending herself from the first attack gave other elders and Sect Leader Kalm enough time to surround him completely.

"Ario, surrender. You don't stand a chance against all of us" Sect Leader Kalm spoke calmly.

"You… you all… AAAGGGHHHH!!!" Being cornered, Elder Ario howled loudly and glanced at Maeve with eyes full of hatred.

"EVEN IF I DIE, I WILL TAKE YOU DOWN WITH ME, YOU BITCH!"

"…feel my fury.

Burn them all!"

Ario completed his spell as he targeted the weakest elders, trying to make a way towards Maeve but for some odd reason, the Fire Qi collected by the spell suddenly dispersed, ending the spell without doing anything at all.

"W-What?" Elder Ario's eyes opened wide in shock. He couldn't believe that the spell he trained so long in mastering failed when he needed it the most.

Of course, though shocked, the elders didn't waste this unexpected but pleasant opportunity as some dashed towards Elder Ario and some prepared their own spells.

Elder Ario tried to fight back using his other spell, but again, for the reason unknown, the Fire Qi dispersed and the spell failed.

Due to this, Elder Ario was soon incapacitated and detained without being able to struggle, at all.

Of course, everybody failed to notice the silvery shiny glow over Maeve's Icy blue eyes.

"Mrs. Maeve, I am really grateful that you helped the sect deal with this traitor or we wouldn't even know how we perished." After capturing the traitor, Sect leader Kalm and other elders expressed their thanks.

"Mr. Kalm doesn't have to thank me, it was my duty as a member of this sect. Alright, since the traitor is caught, I will be leaving now.

Ah, and yes, Mr. Kalm, I'll send someone to hand over Payn and that boy Elijah's body to you later, you can take care of that later. Just umm… kill them if you want to, they'd prefer dying anyway…"

Sect Leader Kalm nodded and Maeve left the hall under gazes of admiration, respect, and…

Fear.

"I am back"

"Mama!"

Little Gracie jumped at Maeve, forcing her to catch her midair. Maeve kissed Gracie's cheeks and Gracie replied with a kiss as well.

"Welcome back" Ace, who was standing behind Gracie spoke as he kissed her lips lightly.

"I made some sandwiches and prepared salad for lunch, wanna have it now?" Ace questioned.

Maeve nodded with a smile as the three went to the dining room.

"Mom, you should wash your hands before you come to eat~"

Little Gracie didn't miss the chance to lecture her mother and spoke while nodding her head continuously like a veteran old man who has collected lifelong wisdom.

"Ahahha~ Look how intelligent my little girl is, Love, you should wash your hands before eating!" Ace laughed heartily and patted Gracie's head, Maeve chuckled as well and put Gracie down before walking into the bathroom.

After Maeve returned, Ace served the dishes as the three sat down to have lunch.

But soon, Maeve noticed something odd and questioned,

"Hmm, Gracie, why are you only eating 2 sandwiches, don't you usually have 5-6?"

Gracie's movements stopped due to Maeve's sudden question as she laughed nervously,

"M-Mom, it's just that I am not much hungry today… you see… hahaha… haa"

"Oh? You are not hungry?"

Gracie nodded fiercely.

"Hmm? Is it that you are not hungry or is it that you have already stuffed your tummy with all the cookies? Haa?" Maeve questioned as she held Gracie's right ear.

"Ouch! Aii! Aii! Mom, It was not me, It was Papa! Papa stole the cookies; I only had some of them…"

Maeve's eyes shifted towards Ace, who was looking at Gracie with wide eyes,

"I can't believe you sold me out like that!" He complained.

"Oh? So it was you! Didn't I tell you not to give her cookies? Haa, my love?" Maeve spoke as she walked towards Ace with a smile that didn't look like a smile at all.

"L-Look, My love, darling, my Maeve, we can talk about this like gentlemen, right? We shouldn't use any voilen- Ahh! Aauu! Aaauu! It hurts! Love, it hurts! Ouuuu!!"

"You dare to give her cookies! Don't you know that it is not good for her health? Look how I'll beat you today!" Maeve shouted as she held Ace's ears just like she did with Gracie.

"Ahh! Aauu! Aaauu! It hurts!" Ace cried in pain but the demon instructor didn't listen to his prayers at all and continued with the punishment.

"Ahahahahha! Hahaha!" Seeing her father crying in pain, little Gracie couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"You! You little girl, not only did you sold me out, but you also dare to laugh at me!"

Ace cried but the more he said, the more Gracie laughed, eventually her contagious laugh spread into the whole room as Maeve and Ace started laughing as well.

Maeve glanced towards Gracie, who was laughing her heart out, and slowly, her smile faded away but was soon replaced by a fake smile and no one noticed.

The three continued giggling as Ace apologized for stealing the cookies and the lunch continued.
