"Eliza! Your magic is back again!" One of Elizabeth's friends cried in joy.
Of course, Elizabeth failed to notice the faint 'Tsk' sound she made before her outburst.
She then nodded with a smile and wiped her dried tears before walking towards the sea and washing her face.
She then stood up and turned around, facing the group.
"Everyone, I am extremely sorry for my unsightly conduct just now, I have taken your worries to my heart and am grateful to you all for being such good friends," Elizabeth said with a light and refined bow, befitting of someone from a noble lineage.
"Haa! Why are you talking so formally? We are friends; of course, we would be worried about you!" The girl spoke as if the matter of fact. Elizabeth smiled and nodded to her.
"Miss Elizabeth, we are glad that you are fine" Antony and his friends came forward.
Elizabeth nodded towards them and Antony continued, "But Miss Elizabeth… I have been thinking about this for a while now… How can you magic just fail at the crucial moment? You are someone who has mastered 'Silent Incantation'. I don't believe that your magic will fail without a cause!"
As soon as Antony mentioned that, everyone furrowed their brows.
He was right; there was no way someone as experience as Elizabeth would be unable to cast magic at random. How was something like that even possible?
"Do you mean to say that it was caused by that man, Ace?" Astut quickly grabbed on the chance and jumped in.
Their aim was clear, they wanted to use Elizabeth to get even with Ace.
Elizabeth's friends also made a thoughtful expression before one of them cried, "How despicable! Did they just do that so they could win a game!? Eliza! We have to take our revenge! We can't let them get away with this! How dare they do something like that to you!?"
Facing their gazes Elizabeth remained calm and turned towards Ace, who was carrying Gracie on his shoulders and was giving her a ride while Maeve followed the two like a troubled mother taking care of two mischievous children. A smile appeared on her face as she replied,
"No need. Even if they did use something like that, there was no reason for them to come and help me. Plus, we were the ones who were wrong by using magic in that match.
Also… I have this feeling…
They aren't someone normal. Their background isn't as simple as we think it is. I am sure there more to them than what meets the eyes, at the very least, I am sure their background is not weaker than mine" As Elizabeth said those words, Antony and his friends shivered in fright.
They completely offended the couple thinking that Elizabeth was someone with a big background and would protect them but now that even Elizabeth is saying that they are not normal, isn't that simply saying that they fucked up?
While Antony and his friends were cowering in fear, someone pointed at the entrance of the beach and questioned.
"Why are Enactment Union officers here?"
Everybody turned around and saw 8 Enactment Union officers led by a fierce-looking officer and a beautiful girl, who Ace would recognize quickly.
Celia looked around and soon pointed towards Ace and his family.
Antony rejoiced in his heart as he glanced at Enactment Union officers as if they were his saviors.
What was Enactment Union? They were the power that has influence all over the kingdom, no, all over the continent. Let alone a kingdom, even an empire won't offend them until absolutely necessary.
Noticing that the girl who pointed towards Ace had dried up tears on her cheeks, Antony hoped and believed that Ace was in some sort of trouble.
His eyes brightened as the officers walked towards Ace with fierce expressions.
'Good, Good, he must have done something illegal, grab him, punish him, punish him to death!' Looking at the fierce expressions of the officers, Antony was even more excited and walked towards them to enjoy the show.
Others also had the same thoughts as they walked towards them.
Noticing the commotion, Ace's eyes finally fell on the Officers who were walking towards him and Celia who accompanied them, automatically, Ace furrowed his brows.
Seeing Ace frowning, Antony was even more overjoyed. He was now sure that the officers weren't here to reward him or something and Ace was definitely in trouble.
But his hopes soon shattered as the officer leading the others stopped his tracks where his gaze met Ace's. If one looks closely, he would notice the drop of sweat appearing on his forehead while his legs trembling ever so weakly.
"H-he is the one you were talking about?" The leading officer turned towards Celia to confirm. Though finding it weird, Celia decided to ignore the officer's current expression and nodded.
"What? Do you guys have some business with me? If you do, then I am busy right now, come to the Golden Moon Inn in the night, I'll meet you there. Now scram." Ace commanded.
Obviously, Ace didn't care why they were here, the only thing he knew was they will waste his precious time he could use to play with Gracie.
*Gasp*
But others weren't thinking the same thing as he was and sucked a mouthful of cold air when they heard him talking to an Enactment Officer like that.
"You! Do you kno-" One of the officers was about to burst out at Ace but was stopped by the leading officer who raised his hand, signaling him to not interfere. This action not only surprised the officer but also the surrounding people.
"Elder Ace, It's been a while!" The head officer bowed respectfully, not only ignoring the way Ace talked to them but even talking to him respectfully.
*Gasps*
If people were shocked by Ace's attitude before, they were now completely astounded by the officer's reply.
It was a known fact that Enactment Union officers were extremely arrogant and don't put anyone in their eyes, so how could this officer be so respectful towards Ace.
Of course, the one who was most affected by all this was Antony, who couldn't help but have a single question in his mind…
'What kind of monster did I offend?'
