Chapter 1 - You Chose A Wrong Master

*Smash*

"Are you telling me that an army of a mere 3 million is able to keep up against our Elite Army of 30 million soldiers!? Are you insane!!?" General Brute questioned in rage as he smashed the table in front of him in pieces.

General Brute, an incredibly powerful Earth mage, born in a common family, joined the army, and with his talents and hard work, rushed the ranking and became a well-known general of the Holy Sword Empire. It won't be a fallacy if he one says that one of the strongest powerhouses in this world.

But right now, this powerhouse was startled and enraged by the report given to him by his subordinate.

There was only one word to describe it, absurd.

Yes, absurd.

How can 3 million soldiers stand up against 30 million? What notion is that?

The poor soldier who came to report the situation was trembling in fear. The reason was simple, he hasn't even mentioned the main problem yet...

Finally, after a deep breath, the soldier continued,

"The enemy soldiers are too strong, my lord. Their equipments are far better than ours while their formations are the ones which are never seen before. It looked like they live in a completely different world from us.

The most concerning matter is that around 50,000 of our comrades have fallen on the battlefield, while the enemy... the enemy losses are...

None."

General Brute's eyes widened in disbelief when he heard that.

Zero losses? How was that possible? Even if an army is overwhelmingly stronger than the enemy, there are bound to be certain deaths. That was the rule of the war.

"Not a single enemy soldier has died yet. Not only that, they are even using the bodies of our fallen comrades to defend themselves.

Their infantry troops are too strong and are wreaking havoc in our lines. Not only that, their ranged mages seem too accurate, it won't be wrong to say that whenever they cast a spell, one of our brothers will fell. They are too strong." The soldier spoke solemnly.

"What are those Captains doing!? Shouldn't they try and change the formations or something like that?" General Brute questioned.

The soldier hesitated before answering, "That is also something out of our understanding, it seems like all the Captions and the other higher officers have somehow turned mute. Though it looks like they are shouting, no one can hear them. That is also the main reason behind so many casualties."

This time, the general could no longer control his anger and grabbed the poor soldier's collar in rage, "Have turned Mute!? What the hell do you take me for!? A fool!? Who would believe such bullshit! You dare try to trick me like that!?"

The soldier's face paled in fear as he quickly replied, "I am not trying to fool you, my lord. I would never dare to! I swear upon my Core that everything I said is true, if not, then may my core burst opens and I shall turn into a cripple!"

The general grips loosened a little before he took a deep breath and calmed himself before he returned to his seat.

"You can leave." With those words, the general closed his eyes, as if thinking something. The soldier didn't dare stay for a second longer and rushed out.

After the soldier, General Brute sat there, motionless, for around 30 minutes before he opened his eyes.

"Vorste Kingdom. A mere little kingdom dares to go against our Holy Sword Empire? Hmph! Hmph!

So what if they have some tricks up their sleeve?

So what if they have better equipments and better formations?

In front of absolute power, everything is useless.

With only 3 million soldiers, no matter how good, they will tire out soon and will be powerless. It won't be long before the situation changes." The general muttered disdainfully.

"General! General!" As if on cue, the same soldier shouted as he dashed inside the general's tent.

"What is it?" The general questioned in a calm manner.

"The situation... the situation in the battlefield changed..." The soldier reported.

"Well, that was faster than I expected..." General muttered to himself, acting like a mastermind whose plan worked just like he wanted it to be.

"Report" He ordered.

"General, We… we should retreat!" The soldier replied in a grim tone.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" The general furrowed his brows.

"The… The battlefield!" The soldier's muttered with a pale face.

"What are you blabbering about!? Repot the situation, you useless shit!" The general ordered.

"He appeared..." The soldier answered as his body trembled in fear not because of general but because of what he just saw.

"Who?" General questioned in a concerned tone.

"The Monarch…

H-he appeared" The soldier answered as he remembered What he just witnessed.

It was a war between the Holy Sword Empire and the Vorste kingdom and. One had a 30 million men strong army and the other only had around 3 million.

Results?

Pretty obvious, isn't it?

The same was the thoughts of the soldiers of the Holy Sword Empire until the battle actually started.

Their weapons were stronger, their mages were more capable and their morale was at all-time high. Even though they had low numbers, they had this unwavering confidence that they were fighting a winning war.

This time, the Army the Holy Sword Empire faces was... Frightening.

They were so strong that even though they didn't have the number advantage, they were still winning. None of their comrades had fallen while they slaughtered the Holy Sword Empire army like it was nothing.

The truth was, even though they were being slaughtered, the Holy Sword Empire Soldiers were still sure about their victory. Just like their general, all the upper echelons of the army were sure that eventually, eventually the enemy would tire out, and then they will counterattack and slaughter them all.

But in this world, no one can be sure of anything, and the absolute confidence of the Empire soldiers withered due to the appearance of a single entity.

The Monarch.

The king of the Vorste kingdom, Ace Vorste.

The man single-handedly shifted the flow of the battle and the empire soldiers, despaired.

In just 5 minutes, around 1 million soldiers died under his sword.

Body strengtheners?

They were too slow to land a hit on him.

Mages?

They died before they could even cast a spell.

Every empire's soldier despaired as they saw their companions fell like a pack of cards, their morale was at an all-time low.

"Haahhh!!"

"Kill Them!"

*Clang* *Clang* *Clang*

Vorste kingdoms soldiers' morale boosted due to their kings performance and they started killing their enemies without mercy. There was no need for any formations anymore, just brutal slaughter.

"Aaggghh!"

"No, NOO-Arrgghh!"

In just 1 hours, both sides were left with 3 million soldiers, the only difference being that the Holy Sword Empire started with 30 million while the Vorste Kingdom with the same amount they had now.

Yes, none of the Vorste Soldier died.

That was just how Ace Vorste was. His presence alone shattered the Enemies fighting spirit.

The battlefield was littered with bodies, the ground was red with blood, the air was filled with the scent of different elements that were being used in the battle.

"Keep going! Don't let anyone escape!"

The soldiers of Vorste kingdom cheered while the empire soldiers, who were once proud ran for their lives.

"Aaaghh!"

"Please don't kill me! I have a wife back hom- Aaghh!"

"No! NO! Aghh!"

The cries of despair were heard as the Vorste soldiers massacred the empire soldiers, completely changing the course of the war.

All of this, due to the appearance of one man.

Ace Vorste, the Monarch.

"General of the Holy Sword Empire, come out! Or I will slaughter every last one of your soldiers" A majestic voice was heard.

Ace Vorste spoke.

The man himself was covered in blood, but even that wasn't able to hide his other-worldly looks rather it gave him additional charm. With a tall built of 1.8 meters and a well-toned body, combined with his perfectly chiseled face, sword-like eyebrows, sharp nose, as his long, white hair fluttering all over his face, the man looked like a God.

His bright Golden eyes looked profound as if hiding countless secrets. From his appearance, he looked no more than 25.

He wore golden colored armor that was covered in red blood while his Sword looked thirsty for even more blood.

"Ace Vorste! Why attack us now? How have our empire offended you?" a heavy voice came from the tent, as the man with rough looks appeared.

He was the general of the Holy Sword Empire's army, General Brute.

When he heard the report, he immediately rushed towards the battlefield, but he never expected that by the time he appeared, everything was over. He couldn't help but shudder when he saw the empire soldiers lying on the ground.

Some were even covered with countless wounds, obviously used as the shields. Truly a gruesome sight.

"Why you ask?" Ace chuckled.

"Why didn't you ask this question, when your emperor, Vlade Halous, massacred my entire family who was completely loyal to him?" Ace questioned back, he looked calm but deep inside his eyes, there was indescribable rage hidden.

"Massacred your family? What rubbish are you talking about?" The general questioned back in a confused tone.

"Oh, Don't tell me you all forgot about it in just 90 years... I will be sad if you forget about me, you know?" Ace replied, the sheer calmness on his face looked terrifying.

The general remained confused before his eyes widened as he thought of a possibility.

"No… you… how can it be you…

How can you still be alive!?" The roared.

Ace just smiled in the answer but the general's eyes enlarged, even more, it looked like they would pop out if weren't stopped. He hesitantly questioned.

"Are… are you that kid…?"

"Missed me?" Ace questioned with a smile.

"But how can that be… you... you shouldn't be older than 100 years, how are you so strong!?" General questioned, obviously he saw how that man slaughtered more than 80% of his troops single-handedly.

"My age doesn't matter. What matters is that I and here to have my revenge against your empire, and You, You little general, shall be my first stepping stone" Ace replied in a cold tone.

"Your family was the one who betrayed the empire!" The general refuted. He did not want to give in to Ace but he knew that he was no match for him.

"My family betrayed the empire?

My family?

Hahahaha!" Ace chuckled, a little amused. It looked like he wasn't even angered by the general falsely accusing his family, and in truth, he wasn't.

In this world, there was a simple rule.

Might is Right.

The winner is the king.

It doesn't matter what the truth is, if one is strong, whatever he says becomes the truth.

Ace knows this rule.

He was now strong. It was time for his revenge, the past doesn't matter anymore.

Ace released a wave of elemental magic, killing 500,000 soldiers in one strike.

Everyone's eyes went wide due to the sudden release of magic power, even the vorste soldiers had surprised expression, though they knew their king was strong, they never knew exactly how much.

Everyone was terrified, except the general, instead of being frozen in fear, the general smiled.

"I admit that you are strong, Ace Vorste, but you are still too naïve!" The general mocked with a wide grin.

"You couldn't even tell that I was just trying to gain some time, you should have killed me when you had the chance, in just a few seconds, the reinforcement will arrive, and do you know who is coming?

It's Blaze! Blaze the butcher! An 8th Layer Fire mage!

Hahahaahaha!

You lost!

Ace Vorste! You lost!" The general laughed maniacally as he already started to celebrate his victory.

"…"

"Hahaha… haha… ha?" The general stopped as he finally realized that the calm look on Ace's face never changed, instead of being afraid, it looked like he had a mocking grin on his face.

"Blaze the Butcher... the man who picked a commoner and took care of him and his family. If I remember correctly, that commoner should be a general now, right, General Brute?" Ace questioned with a smile.

"He did you such a big favor and that's how you repay him? By taking his life?" Ace questioned again.

"W-what do you mean?" General asked as he furrowed his brow.

"Did you really believe I was stupid enough to give you enough time to call for reinforcement?" Ace smirked.

*Thunder* *Thunder*

*Flap*

Suddenly, Ace's feet floated above the ground, and under everyone's astonished gazes, Golden colored wings appeared behind his back.

*Rumble*

His Aura surged and the pressure coming out of him forced everyone present on their knees.

*Silence*

The battlefield turned silent as no one spoke. They all looked at the person who was floating above them like a God.

"You… You a-achieved the… the D-Divinity?" The general questioned as his body trembled in fear.

Ace smiled at his question as his golden wings spread wide.

"How? HOW!?

You are only 100 years old!

How can you achieve divinity!?" The general roared.

Ace just smirked at the outburst. Suddenly, the general's expression changed as he thought about something.

"You… you were just toying with us… weren't you? You are already on the emperor's level… You could have killed us with a snap…

You were just… toying with us… You were…" The general fell on his knees as he kept muttering in despair.

"Hahahaha! I am here!

Ace Vorste! This is your en-" another voice came from behind before stopping abruptly.

It was Blaze. The man had red, spiky hair, tanned skin, and a large build. He wore a red-colored armor that failed to hide his muscles.

Blaze was nicknamed 'The butcher' as he liked to torture and kill the empire's enemies. He was only loyal to the emperor and only answered to him. Even the nobles talks to him with respect but today, the butcher's usual grin disappeared.

When he heard he will get to kill Ace Vorste, he bloomed with joy and rushed towards the battlefield but once he saw those golden pair of wings on Ace's back, his expression turned unsightly.

"A Divinity…" He muttered.

"I was waiting for you, Blaze" Ace smirked.

Blaze expression turned unsightly, he looked around and found the general on his knees mumbling something, and frowned. He completely ignored Ace, who was standing above and questioned.

"Are you really going to give up that soon, Brute?" Blaze questioned.

"Could you do anything against that…?" General looked towards Blaze and smiled wryly. He has already lost all his hopes when he saw Ace's realm.

"I know we can't win, but do you really want t- arrghh" Blaze stopped, his eyes widened and his body jerked.

He looked below and saw a black colored sword piercing his chest from behind, he turned his head back slowly and saw Ace standing with a smile on his face.

"I don't like it when people ignore me" Ace whispered.

"Arh..." Blaze wasn't able to speak as blood choked his vocal chord.

"I like that you are brave and are loyal to your master, but…"

"Uggh…" Blaze's body jerked again as he took his last breath.

"You chose a wrong master"
