Chapter 3 - Part 3

I made myself comfortable on the sofa at home reading the last book of this week. Every Sunday I went to the bookstore for new books and this time I had chosen one of the fattest ones so it had taken me a bit to finish it.

Dad had arrived half an hour ago but they called him and he is getting ready to leave again.

Bonnie was locked in her room. She had had help classes with Spanish, if she were more interested in the school she would not have a tutor. * Insert here -my eyes rolling in annoyance *

It was Friday afternoon and Bonnie was waiting for Dad to leave so she can go to a party.

"Ahh, hell" I heard dad curse. I watched him come down the stairs.

"What's going on?"

"False alarm" He showed me the screen of his phone as if I understood what he was talking about. "I don't have to go to the hospital"

"Good" I smiled at him.

I heard Bonnie go down the stairs slowly as if that made her invisible and Dad didn't see her. "Bonnie, where do you think you're going?" Dad without looking up from his book asked Bonnie.

"I- I ... You see ... There is this party a few blocks down ..."

"With whose permission do you think you will go?" He raised his eyebrows in challenge.

"I was going to ask you" she excused herself.

"The answer is no, it will always be no"

"But daddy" she screeched.

"Go to your room" Bonnie was about to open her mouth but Dad beat her and with an annoyed voice said "Now!"

She ran up the stairs stomping hard and slamming the door to her room. I sighed in annoyance.

Sunday morning I was in my car on the way to the bookstore. I always bought three books for each week, read them fast. I parked the car and slowly got out of it.

Every time I enter I am always moved, I feel peace, people shopping or reading in the armchairs near the window.

I don't need to choose them because Miss Caroline chose them for me, she was the owner of the bookstore and she gave them to me wrapped.

Getting to my car I met the two most unpleasant people. Ethan and Tyler.

"Are you following me?" I walked over to my car to put my books on the back seat. I watched them both waiting for them to answer me.

"I saw your car and I just came to say hi," Ethan apologized. I rolled my eyes.

"I was following you"

"What the hell do you want, idiot?" I glared at him.

"I wanted to invite your sister to the prom."

"Stay away from my sister." I shook my head. I opened the door to get in before he said another word.

"I can't do anything if she throws herself at me every time she sees me. It seems like it runs in the family". Challenging me, he raised a mocking brow. The next thing that happened was my right fist went straight to his nose. I heard his scream and Ethan's laugh.

I got into my car trying really hard to resist the urge to hit him again.

"What the hell is wrong with you, you crazy woman?!" I laughed.

"You deserve that and more. Stay away from my sister "I gave him one last look before turning to Ethan," And you, stay away from me. "

I had come home half an hour later and the first thing I did was put ice on my hand. I laughed just thinking about it, now Tyler will have his face swollen.

Bonnie ran in, enraged. "Did you hit Tyler? What is wrong with you? Are you crazy? " I rolled my eyes.

"Stay away from him." Right out of the kitchen I found Dad at the bottom of the stairs. Here we go again.

"Who did you hit now?"

"Tyler Wood"

"He deserved it?" He looked up from the papers in his hand. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Yes"

"Good." Nodding, he retired to the living room.

Monday morning came as fast as volleyball practice, so did the looks of hatred from Tyler's fans especially my sister's gaze.

I had noticed that Mitchie's brother was here with his friends on the stairs. I knew the world didn't revolve around me but I hoped he wasn't here for me.

Lucie passed the ball to me and I reacted quickly by throwing it hard to the other side of the court.

Alice passed it to Mitchie causing her to throw it back to the other side, waiting to make my move and finish training. I received the ball seconds later before the coach ended today's session.

"Okay girls, you can go now" she waved her hand making Alice and Lucie cheer. We were tired, I could feel my arms go numb. We ran through our respective water to finish them. Leaving the field, Mitchie and I headed to the changing rooms to take a shower and change clothes.

Twenty minutes later we were on our way to my car until we were intercepted by his brother before reaching where my car was parked. I rolled my eyes.

"Mitchie, Dad wants to have lunch with the two of us now" He shrugged before looking at me, "Hi, Talia" He smiled at me in amusement.

"Hello" I murmured.

"Well, let's go." Mitchie smiled at me apologetically. I shook my head dismissing it. "Goodbye Talía, we'll talk later" I waved her off.

"Do you want something more Ethan?" I asked him since he was still standing there looking at me.

"You look good today." I raised my eyebrows.

"Why are you always in black?"

"Well, because it is a color that doesn't stand out, at least it doesn't do it like the idiot boys who go to this school" I chuckled.

"Goodbye, Ethan" I turned to my car bound for my home.
