Luca's POV
If anyone was to ask me why I was threatening the whole hospital for a girl I barely knew I would not be able to give a sound reason. All I knew was that the way she seemed to be tired of life tugged at something deep within me. The fact that she seemed oblivious to my identity was also a breath of fresh air. I would be able to introduce myself to her and she won't have pre-conceived ideas and conclusions from tabloids and magazines. It also gave me the chance to screen the tidbits I didn't want her to find out.
I was aware that I was making a future in my head with her involved when she could easily want nothing to do with me.
'Where am I?', a frail voice sounded in the empty room disturbing my thought processes. I looked up and my eyes collided with her brown ones.
'You are at Lincoln group of hospitals sweets' I replied still staring at those mesmerizing eyes that were so expressive.an array of feelings flashed through her eyes before she decided to settle on dejection.
'I fainted again didn't I?' she said in a worried voice, ' oh well I'm ok now so you might as well call whomever is going to discharge me so that they can get on with it' she continued as she tried to remove the drip that was connected to her.
My eyes widened and I instantly jumped to my feet and grabbed her tiny hands into mine to stop her from her insanity.
'There is no way in hell I am allowing you…..' I didn't get to finish my statement as she started to laugh. Were it not for the fact that she was drained from the almost two day slumber she had been medically induced, the laugh would have rung in the whole room but this particular one was whispery almost hoarsey and wintry. Well it made sense to me.
'You won't allow me?' she asked in shock. 'Look dude I probably owe you a thanks seeing as you are the one that's here alone meaning probably you are responsible for getting me here after tonight's debacle but I don't need any more assistance I fainted big deal now I have better things to take care of than to spend the rest of my night here.'
After her outburst I just smiled cause clearly she was in for a shock if she thought she fainted today. I reached to her bedside and poured her a glass of water she clearly need pressed the blue button for a nurse and calmly regarded her, taking in her features as she slowly sipped on her water, waiting for someone too show up.
" Why are you smirking at me?" she asked annoyed which just caused me to go from smirk to full mouth smile. I laid back on my chair seemingly unconcerned by the present condition when all in my mind I was shouting at myself. I needed to know what I was doing here. What it was exactly I had gotten myself into because I had a lot on my plate to handle and I couldn't afford to waste time on meaningless things. Time indeed was money and I had already spent two days cooped up in here with some girl I didn't even know the name to.
Time was money. I pressed the blue button again my irritation with this incompetent hospital rising. It had been five minutes now and still no one had shown up to check up on this girl. Swearing, I roughly pushed my chair backwards causing it to fall with a loud bang on the floor and I stomped out of the room into the hallway heading straight to the reception.
' I honestly do not understand how this hospital is still standing. I have fvcking called for someone to check on your patient but you seem to be preoccupied with glancing at these walls. SHE IS AWAKE AND I NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING SO LONG!' I shouted at the poor receptionist.
She seemed like a good sweet timid girl but I didn't exactly care about her or her feelings. At the moment I had tunnel vision and my focus was getting help for my….. wait hold up. I cant honestly be thinking of her as my anything. I just wanted her to get the attention she wanted call someone for her now that she was awake and get the hell out of this place I had an empire to rule and I had left it unattended for too long.
'Sir, im terribly sorry someone is coming with you right away it seems the room has a malfunction and the button is not working we will get one of our hand aids to get on that asap.'
'What do you mean the button is not working ? ' my voice boomed inside the waiting room. By now I was making a scene but I did not care everyone was trying to inconspicuously look at what was happening.
'What if she had started seizing or whatever it is happened yesterday? What if she ….. you know what just get me someone to check her vitals and give me her release papers im moving her from this place cause clearly you got other important things to worry about that's not your patients lives. And best believe I am suing this hospital for incompetence, poor services, threat to human life and whatever else my lawyers can come up with.'
By now a doctor had come and his face was ashen looking probably because he recognized me and he knew what money and power could do.
'Im so..rry sir lets.. let us go right now' the doctor stuttered and wordlessly I turned on my heel and walked away. Behind me, I saw the doctor and one more other doctor with two nurses in tow. They got to the room, found Bella staring at the walls a blank expression on her face and started examining her.
I stood in the background and watched them work but my focus was on Bella who seemed to be annoyed to be probed and checked.
" My apologies Mrs DeCasso, but you need a specialist for your condition. It seems your heart is having problems supplying oxygen to all your muscles and hence the dizzy spells. We are not quite sure what caused the system to almost shut down but we think its because of the malfunction of the heart. More tests will show us a clear picture of what we are working with," the first doctor supplied looking at his chart. "
We came here for answers and facts not assumptions doctor, if I wanted assumptions, I would have gone to my eighteen year old sister not come to you the people who are supposed to be proffesionals, I snapped at the doctor.
He visibly took a step away from me and shrinked. All the others just looked downwards and pretended to be busy.
Bella threw a glare in my direction and gave the doctor a smile, "im sorry he didn't mean to be rude. Thank you I however want to be discharged, I will come for the tests and you can recommend the specialist and if I get time, I will visit them too."
"Umm noo ma'am that is not what I could recommend. You are still weak and anything can happen. We still have to keep you here for frequent checkups to see if you didn't have a negative reaction to the induced coma and if your system wont attempt to shut down again" this time it was the other doctor that spoke up.
"You don't need to worry, I am perfectly fine and nothing will happen and if in the unlikely event that something does happen I will come back here " she said with that smile still intact. " ma'am, I dnt think you seem to understand the gravity of your situation. If this happens again, your heart isn't strong enough yet to withstand something like that again. We could loose you within minutes. That is why we need to keep you here for at least two more days."
The fight seemed to frain from her eyes and within seconds she was exhausted, " ok two more wait what do you mean by two more days? How long have I been in that induced coma?" she practically screamed to the doctor. I stifled a laugh as somehow this was comical to me. " You came here on the night of Tuesday and today it is Thursday in the afternoon ma'am. To say shock was written all over her face was an understatement.
'Ok thank you very much we appreciate your help but im tired now can i sleep now' my angel said stifling a cute yawn. The doctors all filed out and before her eyes closed she looked at me with a cute glare
'Was it really necessary to scare those doctors and give meaningless threats honestly.'
I saw no reason to answer her so i just shrugged which annoyed her so much.
"Whats your name love", i asked when i realised i still had no idea what her name was. by now she was fighting to stay awake.
She mumbled a barely coherrent Terriela before she started snoring and i let her be.
