**Damien POV**
"Well I guess it's a good thing that I don't plan on being a cavalier jerk any time soon, hmmmm? My little Rose." I said as I looked down at my beautiful mate. She was captivating. I couldn't help but be hypnotized by her beauty and in aw of the person she was deep down to her core.
I heard Amber suck in a sharp breath, almost as though she had been stabbed. "Amber what's wrong?" I looked at her trying to figure out what it could possibly be.
She looked at me, but it felt like she was looking through me. She adjusted so that she could sit up and when she looked back at me her eyes had become glossy, ready to pour down tears at any moment. "Amber, honey what's wrong?" I begged her to tell me what was making her so upset.
"My dad used to call me that." She whispered. As she said the words out loud she seemed to crumble. I caught her in my arms and I brought her into a protective hug. She was trying not to cry, not to make a sound, but I could feel her tears wetting my shirt.
I used my hand to gently pet her hair while the other was keeping her in my embrace. "Amber, I am so so sorry. I had no idea." I couldn't help but feel guilt for being the one to cause her tears.
She pulled away a little, trying not to let me see her face. Quietly she spoke while she looked down at her hands. "It's not your fault Damien. You didn't know, and honestly it is very sweet. It's just that I haven't seen my dad for a really really long time, and I don't even know where he is. I don't know if he is alive, moved on, hurt, sick, or dead." She closed her eyes with the last word, trying not to let herself cry again. I took her hand and interlaced our fingers together. Placing a brief kiss onto her hand, I brought her face up so that I could look into those beautiful hazel orbs I loved so much.
"Nonetheless, I am sorry. I NEVER want to hurt you. I'm sorry that it took me this long to find you, but I will NEVER leave you." I told her, every word being the absolute truth. I don't know that I had ever been surer of anything in my entire life.
"Do you mean it?" she was looking at me with so much hope behind those hazel eyes.
"Yes love. I mean it with everything I have." And I sealed that promise with a kiss.
We sat there in silence for a few minutes when I was pulled out of my thoughts by her voice. "Damien, you never told me about yourself."
"Do you still want me to right now?" I asked unsure of if she was completely up for sharing things anymore.
"Of course I do."
I took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Well here goes nothing. "Ok well my whole name is Damien Tyler Lionheart. I am 22 years old. I am the Alpha of Moon Stone pack. I was born and raised here. I am closest with my brother Diego since we are only a year apart, and then there is Danny and Davina. I don't like very many people. I don't trust them either. I have several businesses that I run to help support the pack, all of them successful so far.
I have never been close with my father. I am as close to my mother as I can be, but seeing as my father doesn't like me very much I only get to spend time with her when he isn't around.
I never went to a proper school; I was homeschooled so I guess my favorite subjects were economics and math.
The only thing I can honestly say that I actually enjoy doing is working out…well that is before I met you of course. I've always been too busy living up to what my father wanted me to be to focus on anything else. " I finished.
When I was done speaking, there was dead silence. Amber was looking at me as though she was trying to decipher a hidden message. "Damien-"
At the same moment Amber began speaking, the driver came over the intercom, "Boss, we are pulling in the drive to the Elders Castle now. Just wanted to give you a heads up…um…so you could be ready." He finished mumbling the last few words.
I chuckled at his words. Looking at Amber I laced my fingers through hers. "Are you ready Princess?"
