In shock I opened my eyes to find myself where China should be, the monster had slammed me across an entire continent like swatting a fly, at least I was still alive, but now what? Now that Jörmungandr was fully awake, I was fucked, "God damn it," I coughed, gold blood running down my mouth, with a sigh I looked at the fang and the scale I had recently acquired, floating behind me, and I have to say I was surprised I managed to hold them after the bitch slap Jörmungandr just gave me, it would've been natural to drop them, I guess my magic refused to let go of them.

As I forced myself with Magic to stand up, I felt as Jörmungandr started to turn his massive body towards me, if this continued… I would die, I knew that much, I had to escape, or the monster would claim my life… but how? This world, while a copy of Midgard, was not Midgard, meaning I had no idea where I was magically located, without a point of reference my teletransportation was useless, and with my current strength I was no match for the beast, at least I was an annoying fly… I mean… I had to sacrifice my arms and legs to deal the equivalent of a mosquito bite on him.

"Well Adam," I muttered, seeing the snake struggle to move, I guess that happens when you are bigger than the planet hosting you, "You have three minutes to think of a solution," I chuckled, ichor dripping from my limbs, as I kept my eyes on Jörmungandr.

If I had to take a guess, Jörmungandr was not exactly the best moving around, his massive side made it difficult for him to turn and do things on a timely manner, which is why he had yet to attack me again, it was either that, or the snake simply saw me as a game, something he shouldn't take seriously at all, either way, he was taking his time to attack me.

For the first time in decades, I didn't know what to do, for no matter where I ran to, he would find me, this blatant copy of Midgard was his home, and as long as I was trapped in here, I was his prey, his toy to play with.

"Heimdall, if you can see me… please open the bifrost, and get me the fuck out of here!" I screamed, as I remembered Heimdall was all seeing, but nothing happened… meaning he was not paying attention to me right now, fuck.

Well, if Heimdall couldn't help me… then what…. Hestia… of course, the Hearth was a gate to Hestia, one that she controlled, if I created a hearth in here, I would be able to walk through it to her, "I summon a gate to burn away my pains, a place to meet where family is always there, I call the fire of hearth to soothe my problems away! I call it upon myself!" Good thing I still remembered how to make one, and I can only hope this is not like Tartarus, otherwise I was fucked.

A few seconds after my incantation, a fire came to life in front of me, "Adam?!" I heard Hestia call out, her tone carrying a lot of emotions, most of them… emotions Hestia should not be allowed to carry.

"Not much time to talk, I need your permission to walk through the heart with a few big items," I replied, at much I had another minute or so before Jörmungandr decided to end me.

"Of course! Just go through the fire!" Hestia replied immediately, as the hearth grew in size, big enough for me to enter.

"Thanks," I sighed, as I dived into the hearth… escaping this nightmare, not before giving the beast the bird… a magical one, my hands were fucked right now.

[Hestia POV]

When I felt Adam creating a hearth, I knew something was wrong, but how much…. I wasn't prepared to, his legs and arms were broken beyond anything I have ever seen, but that didn't even come close to the terrifying mess his body was… he was one step away from dying his first immortal death, his body was barely keeping itself together, in fact I was surprised his body was still here and not going through his first reformation.

"How bad is it doc?" Adam asked, smiling.

"You are barely alive," I shot back, angry… he shouldn't be smiling, he almost died and while yes he probably would've reformed later… we didn't know that for sure, Jörmungandr could've eaten him, destroying his essence.

"Sorry," Adam muttered, "But if it makes you feel any better, I finished my dangerous quest," he offered with an apologetic smile.

"It does not," I huffed, "I will have a word with Thor, he promised to keep an eye on you, and he did a terrible job!"

"In all fairness, we did not account for Loki appearing," Adam sighed, "The bastard made my mission harder than it had to be,"

Stupid Loki, stupid Thor, "Still, I will have a word with him!" I stated.

"Fair enough," Adam shrugged, "Now… how about you ask Odin if he has a medic able to help me," he chuckled, "I feel like if I go to sleep I will fade,"

I sighed, "Most likely, right now what's keeping you together in pure sheer will," I stated, "So don't fall asleep until I find a way to stabilize your essence, or at the very least wait until your body fixes itself, which should take a day or two,"

"I will so kill tha Loki," Adam muttered, "As you wish, my beautiful nurse," he winked at me, and at that I narrowed eyes at him, I knew he would most of the time smile to keep me happy, to hide how much pain he was actually feeling, he had always done that, but ever since Tartarus, it had become a norm for him, to pretend to be happy, to pretend everything is okay… when it's not, but I suppose it's okay for now, because I will find a way to help him someday.
