An hour passed and it became obvious that Count Zhong wasn't planning to come back to the banquet hall. The concubines and Bai Li An left one by one, and soon only Bai Chen, Bai Hua, and their personal servants remained. For a long while, silence fell onto the room. None of Bai Hua's maidservants dared to breathe too loudly. They waited with bated breath for one of the two siblings to break the status quo.
"Second brother?" Bai Hua suddenly spoke her first words of the evening.
Bai Chen laid an elbow against the table and turned his head to her, yawning. "Hmmm?" he hummed with a lazy expression. Because he had just yawned, his dark eyes seemed to be covered by a thin layer of tears and were gleaming. His beauty was the kind that could bewitch even a straight man.
Bai Hua, however, was used to him and his wicked attitude of always feeding her what she hated.
