Cross flew away alone, looking for anyone that didn't have the Lingxiao clothes. They were the enemy and his family needed resources. They weren't as strange as him, they could use crystals and other things for normal cultivation. He saw a group of people and without warning, he dived down and slashed out his scythe with a crazy grin, butchering the group of sheep and stealing all their resources.
Everything went inside the inner world. The books went to the bookshelves, the rest went into the vault and conveniently labeled by the Castle itself. It was as if the Castle already knew what all these things were. He knew that the Castle was an Experts treasure but he was unsure who the expert was.
One thing he knew for sure was the Castle was reacting strongly to the Immortal Land, but Cross felt it was 'Hungry'. He chuckled, soon the Immortal Land will become part of his personal property, maybe he could find out a clue as to what the Castle was and who it belonged to before.
Another thing he noticed was the Castle library had gotten infinitely bigger. It was huge! The castle also became more like a school than a residence. The 'Houses' from Hogwarts and the secret rooms were non existent since the beginning. It was as if the Castle shook off all the added parts and returned to how it was before.
But it was slowly changing. The only thing he could say was the inner world was turning into a real world and the Castle was turning into a 'Sect' like place. New towers grew out of the ground, arenas unearthed themselves, halls for weapons, techniques, etc popped up all over the place.
Cross didn't really know how to feel about it, but for now he was okay with the changes. mainly because everything was neat and clean, if he wanted to the Castle would automatically sort everything in the vault to the designated areas. But he didn't want that, the library would be filled with Techniques and skills when he was done with it.
Another thing was that all the knowledge he took from the Scripture hall at the Lingxiao sect was imprinted into a book and put on the selves in the Library in his Castle. He really needed to go back and absorb the entire library, he had a feeling that if he kept filing the library he would unlock something cool.
Cross' beasts were going pretty good on the inside, all they had to do was eat and sleep and their cultivations would rise. It was pretty damn powerful! They occasionally walked around the castle finding interesting things.
Anyway!
Cross had butchered several groups of people and collected all their spoils. He was a bit pissed that the Lingxiao students were finding treasure. Don't they know Lord Fifth was a greedy man?! He ignored the disciples that found things, only nodding at their respectful salutes before flying off.
He came across a group of people surrounding a group of Lingxiao disciples, he threw out his scythe and spun it in a circle, slaughtering the enemies before collecting the spoils and nodding at the Lingxiao group as he left.
The small fry were nothing compared to his strength. He was pretty much king in this world. He also had no idea how long they were allowed inside so he rushed around to find things, even picking up herbs. He didn't even let a single speck of dust go, he was determined to sweep the entire Realm clean!
He flew around killing people when he stumbled across a pitch black swirling void circle. He naturally was not afraid of any dangers so he dived right in.
He came into an old looking ruin, there was a group of people he didn't recognize inside they immediately attacked Cross. A terrible mistake, as Cross slaughtered them all and stole their stuff. He walked into the ruins and came into a giant hall with a huge statue. It was a man with a long sword and swirls for eyes.
The man was dressed in a scholar's robe and had a faint smile on his face. He had long hair and carried a book in the opposite hand of his sword.
Cross looked at the statue and felt an indescribable familiarity. He felt the statue calling to him and he walked over, the statue's eyes started swirling and glowing, Cross' inner world started shaking and he went into a daze, looking at the statue in front of him.
The statue started cracking before collapsing into rubble. A bright floating orb slowly floated to Cross, submerging into his forehead. Cross felt an information overload in his brain, the Castle shook and the pain eased as a cooling sensation took over.
He processed the information, finally finding out what the castle was. It turns out it was the Statue's sect! The man was the Master Scholar, he traveled nearly every realm and world with an insatiable thirst for knowledge before finally settling down and creating his own sect for scholars just like him.
The Scholar was no vegetarian, because of his knowledge and the secrets he knew, he was constantly attacked by the world. They all wanted his techniques and secrets, after all, knowledge is power! The Scholar killed in all 4 directions, protecting his sect and disciples until he passed away.
Greed was a constant driving force for the world and naturally without the protection of the Scholar the sect was besieged by anyone hungry enough for a pie of the pie. Even the disciples couldn;t escape and were hunted down by the attacking forces, in the end the entire sect was ravaged and looted, drenched the the blood of all the innocent disciples.
The Sect itself was a treasure that was soon sought out after by the attacking forces but it was blessed by the Scholar, who anticipated the situation long ago. The sect fled from the Ancient land to one of the countless lower Realms.
This was how the Castle was named Hogwarts! It was found by Salazar and changed to a school once more. When Cross took it away it was merely a shell of it's former self, but it slowly accumulated strength and because what it was today.
It was still far from the grandeur that it had in it's prime but the Castle itself acknowledged Cross as it's new master and slowly grew with him. Devouring Qingyue's special constitution and the God Realm of Absolute Beginning.
Cross watched the Scholar's entire life, from a little boy to the world shaking expert he was until his death. He went through a myriad of emotions, until he came back to the hall. He sighed at the broken statue and walked deeper into the ruins of the sect. He came to a giant pit and jumped down in it before pressing on a specific point.
A swirling door opened itself and Cross jumped in.
He came into a room with very few things inside. There were extremely rare materials, weapons, and a single book. Cross took out all the weapons and metals he had already accumulated from killing and robbing before melting them all down into Aurora.
The new necklace sparkled like a star as the form changed. It was a long necklace with golf ball sized beads, reaching just under his chest. Aurora went silent as her entire being was evolving. The others had their necklaces and bracelets fall silent as well as only the basic functions were left.
Cross took the book and read it, knowing exactly what it was. He closed the book and decided he would actually use it when he left the Immortal Land as he had a crazy Idea. The book turned into a drop of sparkling black liquid. Cross gently stored it away, intent on using it after.
He swept the entire ruins clean before leaving with a heavy sigh. He had technically inherited the Scholar's legacy but he was no scholar, he had a clear goal now however. He would fulfill the Scholar's final wishes perfectly and allow his soul to rest in peace wherever it was.
He left the ruins and flew away, starting his hunt once again.
A while later
Cross cam across a golden man, who looked like a giant barbarian. He tiled his head and said "Who is this fellow?" the man snorted "Who are you?" Cross smiled and said "Excuse me, when I ask you to speak you shall speak. If I don't talk to you, shut your fucking mouth. Since you're not from Lingxiao Academy, you can die." he shot forward and swung out his scythe towards the man's neck.
The man's eyes widened and he tilted, the scythe cut his arm clean off and the man immediately flew away, disappearing in a split second. Cross clicked his tongue and muttered "A big fish escaped..." the man burned his blood to escape there was no point in chasing after him.
Cross sighed and merged with the wind, disappearing from his spot.
He continued to fly when he saw a bunch of people from the 5 other forces gathering. He stood in the void and looked down at them. They were talking about ambushing Bai Shishi and killing her, he tilted his head and one of them said "I heard there's 5 other beauties in her league, we can play around with them before killing them!"
Oof.
Cross' mouth twitched upwards and his eyes became colder than the deepest parts of hell. He circled around the entire group of people, trailing his scythe behind him in the dirt and carving a circle. He injected his Void Energy into the trench and surrounded the entire group of hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
Cross touched the ground with his hand and the void Qi flared up, forming a dome on black energy. The dome turned dark orange and bloodcurdling screams were heard. Cross chuckled and danced around the dome quickly, tapping on it repeatedly, sending blasts of Qi at the group and slaughtering groups at a time until they were all dead.
He stepped on top of the dome and a ton of rings floated up before everything inside the dome exploded violently. If there was a survivor there wasn't anymore. A series of ground shaking explosions came and didn't stop at all.
Cross shattered the bubble and saw the giant bottomless pit. He nodded in satisfaction and stepped away, humming a song. Clearly not even fazed by the thousands of lives he just took. He flew away and went to ruin after ruin, reaping lives like they were grass.
Actually, he had accumulated quite a bit of wealth! All the herbs on his way were sent into the gardening area and he even found some liquid that enriched the soil! What a lucky find! The library was filling up quickly but it was just a drop in the bucket for it. It seemed like it was an endless task to fill up the bookshelves.
Nevertheless, Cross didn't stop and time flew by.
He still had no idea what was going on with the rest but Aurora finally woke up as Cross came across a giant archway with two giant beasts guarding it. He grinned and his scythe gleamed as he jumped at the beasts and started fighting them.
Unknown to Cross, he just entered the Core area of the Immortal Land. This happened to also be a Supreme Death Zone which had to be avoided at all costs. Once you go in, there was no coming out...
