       ~~~Chapter One ~~~
"Princess Kathleen Bint Al Ghaniyu Al Bashir! You are not supposed to be hanging around the maids. It's not formal. You are above them and they are below you. This means you don't associate with such people. You have to be aristocratic all the time!" Kathleen's father snapped at her while in his office.
This is how everything has been , since she turned 4. Her mother, may Allah be pleased with her soul, was the one who was concerned about the well being of her daughter. But life isn't fair to us all the time.
That beautiful woman whom she called mother, died when she was 8, she was brutally killed by her abusive father. Memories of that day, left her traumatised and troubled. That day when her mother was beaten up and locked up in the cellar, just beacuse she fed a hungry servant off the left overs of the King.
That day, she had cried over her mother's dead body. She was the only child of her mother and the last child of her father. Her stepmothers , were like the usual stepmothers. They were always complaining about the poor girl to her father, which always landed her in trouble.
Often times, he would hit her and even starve her. The young , now, 22 year old girl, had grown up in pain, and was the toughest child of her father. He was surprisingly proud, even though he never took part in the training of the young girl.
Her mentor, an elderly looking old lady in the palace called Fadila had taken a keen interest in this young beautiful girl. From the day her poor mother died, this woman had taken the responsibility of looking after this girl.
Kathleen was forever indebted to this motherly woman. She never did anything to hurt her. The woman treated her like her own blood daughter and so the girl also loved her like her biological mother.
"Sorry father. It won't happen again" Kathleen assured him. She knew that he knew that she was speaking the truth. The moment she walks out of his office, she was going to collect all the left over foods and distribute them to the hungry citizens or hungry servants.
Her father scowled at her, while he gave her a letter to read before him. He would intercept all her messages and read them, in order to check her friends and 'other' people she associated with.
This particular letter came from a strange person that goes by the name 'VENOM' .
Kathleen felt bad energy around the letter. She knew that something was wrong, she just didn't know what.
The first few word on the letter, made her gulp. She begun sweating fervently. This anonymous person, was going to and her in trouble with her father.
"Come on! Read it!" Her father roared at her angrily. She knew that there was no way of convincing him that this letter was a quack letter sent by a trickster.
'To The Love Of My Life
I've been missing you everyday Kathleen. My heart burns eagerly to see your beautiful face. That face that looks like the chaste leaf after a raining morning. I've poured out the waters of my soul, to wash your feet. I know that you love me too. But the only obstacle is your father.
Think carefully about this, and let's find out what to do about him.
With every fibre of my being,
             VENOM❤
Kathleen gasped out of horror after reading this letter. She had no clue about who the hell was playing with her this way. She had never even heard of anyone called Venom.
"Don't Act Surprised Kathleen! You plotted with someone to kill your own father?" Her evil father asked. The hazardous tone he spoke with, alone made Kathleen want to die.
"This is a quack letter father. I have no link to this. Believe me!" She tried to convince him, but it was all in vain.
He smirked at her wickedly and whispered
"I killed your mother ruthlessly, what you think, I won't kill you" his words pierced through the four chamber of her heart. The seven wonders of her world that lay asleep in her heart suddenly rose up and started her father right in the face.
She wasn't scared. In fact she was really brave. She looked her father right in his face and spat at him. Her period of endurance was over. It was either now or never..
"Well father.. It's true you killed your wife. She was vulnerable at that time. You can kill me if you want to. But you can't. You know why??. Your subjects and even your wives and sons, believe that Queen Eva died of internal bleeding. Imagine, they find her daughter's dead body in a pool of blood, right before your doorstep and there has been evidence planted all over that you were the culprit?? How are your subjects going to see their King? He's definitely going to be dethroned or worse assassinated. So think fast before trying to threaten me father. Because I'm not your wife, I'm your daughter"
With that said, Kathleen left the office with a smile on her beautiful face. Her father on the other hand, looked terrified. He was being threatened by his 22 year old daughter. He has to act smart. If not this thing, he calls a daughter, would be his destruction.
"Quddus? Come over right now. We need to talk about your engagement to the Princess of Iraq." His father said to his First born son and his favourite child.
He was up to some no good.
Kathleen sat on her bed and begun pondering over the letter. Who was behind this and why?
She didn't get over the fact that, someone had it out for her. She didn't have that nice father-daughter relationship with her father, already, so if this swindler comes into the chart, everything is going to be fucked up.
She praised herself mentally, for standing up to her father. But she knew that something bad would happen , not only to her, but to the ones she loves.
And by the ones she loves, she means Fadila. That beautiful old lady who took care of her when no one else did. Heaven helps the broken ones. And this heaven was Mrs. Fadila. Kathleen was going to protect this woman with her life. She deserves to be safe.
Knock....knock...knock....
"Come in!" Kathleen responded. The meek face of a royal maid, appeared from the door. She bowed and greeted the princess in the traditional
"Asalamu Alaikum Princess Kathleen Of Qatar"
Kathleen rolled her eyes at the maid. Obviously bored with the way she's bring addressed.
"Walikum Salam. And quiet all those formalities Najma. Come sit down and talk to me" she offered the maid a seat. It was surprising how Kathleen knew all the names of the royal maids and guards in the palace. But she wouldn't dare call them by their names, in front of the King and her father.
"Your father is organising a ball tonight in honour of your stepbrother Quddus and his engagement with the Princess of Iraq." The maid disclosed to Kathleen.
She was oblivious of the fact that, some boozon ( Note: there is nothing like a boozon. Me, being a Sassy Queen, just invented a new word. You can find it in my dictionary 🤪) was cooking up a plan to kidnap her.
Kathleen simply nodded and walked to her dressing room. Her closet was as big as a person's room. She bad everything, yet nothing.
A life as a princess was fun but wasn't so fun. You've got everything at your disposal but you can never get one thing, that is your liberation.
She has to live under the ugly ass of her evil father. Sometimes she wished she could just die and leave this pathetic world behind.
"Let me help you pick up a gown" the maid and her only friend Najma offered.
She handed the work over to Najma and hopped in bed to take a nap. She was feeling restless, as though something was after her.
"Take a look at the gown I found princess" Najma announced happily.
Kathleen gasped when she saw the gown. It was so beautiful.
"I never knew,I had this" Kathleen said. Najam smiled as she showed Kathleen a matching brikin and heels.
The gown was a beautiful peach gown. It was beautiful and long. The sleeves were peach coloured lace and the gown had a clingy start and a flair finish. Kathleen knew that this dress was ideal for her.
Her mother's necklace and bracelet, matched perfectly to this picture perfect dress.Suddenly all bad thoughts disappeared from her mind. She was happy. Happy and Grateful.
"Thank you Najma. For choosing this beautiful dress for me " Kathleen acknowledged. The maid, just smiled and nodded.
Kathleen finally took a two hour nap and woke up around sunset. She performed wudhu and said her prayers.
A long line of beauticians barged into her room, on command of the King. They started to work.Some dud her nails, others gave her a massage, others worked on her hair and makeup.After all this beauty treatment, Kathleen stepped into her forn and her shoes. She looked like an angel sent from the above. After a few hours, their job was done and they all left with a smile on their face.
Now was her time to go out there and shine. She wasn't supposed to come out, until the order of the King, permits her to do so.
After waiting for a couple of minutes, Najma walked in looking fairly presentable.
"The ball has just begun Princess. Your father requires your presence"
Kathleen nodded, as she said a slight prayer in her head before rising up to leave. Even at the age of 22, she looked like a 27 year old girl. She was 5 foot 5, which wasn't so tall. Her baby skin was flawless. She was her fathher's most beautiful child, but he didn't seem to like her too much.
She walked with Najma downstairs. Surprisingly, there were a lot of guests from elite, backgrounds present. She could spot the Sultans and their Sultanas, Kings and Queen, Princes and Princesses, and many more people from aristocratic backgrounds.
All eyes fell on her.
A loud chant of
"All Hail The Princess of Qatar!" Was heard all over the ballroom as she walked downstairs.
She never like that much attention but she always got it.
Unnecessary attention did not fancy her. She preferred the type of fatherly attention to this type of attention.
She walked gracefully yet with authority in her. She merely nodded at everyone that looked towards her direction. She walked to her favourite stepbrother, also the one getting engaged, Quddus and hugged him lightly.
"What's poppin' brody?" She asked in a whisper, she knew that it wasn't formal and would land her in trouble, if her father heard her.
"Sis, you know, I miss you" Quddus whispered back as they both giggled.
Quddus was the nicest person she had ever met. And her always stood up for her anytime, her father was giving her a hard time.
"All Hail The King Of Qatar!"
Her father had arrived. All the guards and maids went on their knees, while the elites, bowed to him slightly.
The evil aura that arose from him, soon filled all over the room. Her father walked with pride towards the aristocrats and shook hands with all of them.
He smirked wickedly at Kathleen as she smirked back at him.
Something wasn't right....
