Mr Lancaster whas also been informed about the arrival of Dr Kessiena back to the country. Although Mr Huffignton had only wish to inform him about the plans of John to head back to the country but in so doing also told him Dr Kessiena was back to the country.
Mr Lancaster also knew that meant Shaw was aware of the presence of Dr Kessiena in the county. And that was the link he was going to use to know the exact location of Dr Kessiena since he wasn't able to get his own men in time to head to the airport. They only got to the airport early the next morning when John arrived so it was John they ended up abducting right from the airport.
He was going to use it against Shaw if it comes to that. That's why early that morning Mr Lancaster sat in the living room waiting for Shaw to come out. As Shaw rushed out of his room in bid to meet up with Tobin and Sharon in the hotel room he was stopped by his father.
