"A spy? "Avero asked taken aback by her father's outburst.
"Yes a spy"he said trying to sound convincing.
"Why will you say that? Who could she be spying on and for who? "Different questions kept coming from Avero with no immediate response from her father. The fact her father wasn't forthcoming with response kept her agitated.
"Wait!! dad how do you know she is a spy? Avero asked turning to her dad.
"Her wrist, it has a star tattooed on it. I saw it clearly that is why I hesitated when I was about putting the wrist watch on her." Mr Huffington tries to explain calmly.
"A tattoo on her wrist? How come I didn't notice it even when I have been in the house for two days?" Avero queried
"I really don't know, its so small unless you are very close to her you won't see it from afar."He said.
"Okay dad let's assume there is star tattooed on her hand. What does it mean?" How does it make her a spy? "
"Sunshine there are a lot we don't know. I got to know about the tattoo today." He said patting her on the head as he drives slowly on the road.
"Remember the man that was captured during the attack.? He had the same tattoo on his wrist and it was then Mr Lancaster told me about a certain underground cartel with that tattoo on their wrist. The tattoo is operated by the family of his late wife and they seem to have an unresolved old rift of over twenty years ago." Mr Huffington quickly gave a brief story of what transpired.
"Wow dad that's even before I was born. They should have worked things out by now." Avero said greatly surprised.
"Yes sunshine that issue isn't the present trigger." Mr Huffington said.
"Oh really? What is the present trigger then?"
"Remember the young man that was shot by Shaw in the casino that I told you about?" Mr Huffington asked her.
Yes dad, I can remember.
He is the first son of Mr Tommy who runs the cartel now. Avero's jaw dropped at the revelation.
"Wow I guess that's the reason they came for a revenge attack. It all makes sense now." Avero said thinking deep.
"So what do we do? Do we tell Mr Lancaster about Sharon?" Avero asked her dad.
"No!! Not yet. Trust me he won't believe me. He loves that girl like his own daughter. I will hire a private investigator to dig deep on her before I know what to do with her." He replied.
"Besides if she is really a spy it will work to our advantage. It means someone will help us destroy that family from the inside."
"Dad I don't understand? Why will you want to destroy them." Avero asked confused at what her father is saying
'If we cannot get some of their properties by marriage then it is better of if we destroy them. Besides I know when the going goes tough Mr Lancaster will run to me and then I will offer him a deal if he really wants me to help me." Mr Huffington replied.
"Dad I am a little confused on what you actually want. A deal of some of their properties or some of their properties through my marriage to one of them or you want to destroy them.? "Avero asked again.
"My dear we can't put all our eggs in one basket. With time we will know."
Mr Huffington said as he searches his mind for other plans. As silence reigned in the car for a while before Avero ask another question.
"But dad I don't see any reason why this present situation will escalate further. The Cartel have already had their revenge by attacking the mansion and destroying properties. So why do you think the situation will still linger.?" Avero asked.
"I know my friend, he will want to show strength and not weakness. An attack on the Lancaster mansion where is family is located is a slap on his ego."
"And even if he doesn't want to attack again. I made sure the cartel will attack again." He added.
"How did you do that?" Avero asked wide eyed.
'That young man we interrogated his name is Angelo. When Mr Lancaster stepped out of the room. Angelo give me a very important information. He told me we should let him go before his father gets worried and when I asked, he told me his father is Tommy the head of the cartel. Angelo is the last son of Tommy."
"Immediately he told me that I killed him on the spot." Mr Huffington said with a cold voice
"What!! Dad why will you do that? "
"Imagine what happened when Tommy' s oldest son was shot and what do you think will happen now if he knows his youngest son was killed? Avero asked with fear in her voice.
"Exactly my dear. That's what I want. I know my friend will stubbornly take the blame for killing Angelo and that will be his greatest undoing." He said with evil smile playing on his face.
