So when Winston came to him for advise he saw it as an opportunity to remove one obstacle from his way.

That was it. It was that simple to convince Winston to back down. Thing is he has never really liked the idea so it was easy telling to step down. He also trusts Dane to keep to his words.

Winston returned to the mansion to see Avero at the door. She was as stunning as ever.
He felt she always dressed to impress any time she comes to the mansion. He wasn't far from the truth.
Avero comes to the lancaster mansion with a mission in her heart. She is out to make one of the brothers fall for her and so far she has got the attention of Dane.

Avero was determined to succeed. She had promised her dad she will make sure to get married to One of the lancasters . Her dad had told her the story of how he lost his wealth to Mr lancaster and she is happy to help him get it back by whatever means necessary.
