Sharon took stealthy steps towards Tobin's room, as her mind ran through a thousand doubts. What if he doesn't hear her out? How was she even going to start the apology?
As she stood in front of his door with her hand suspended a little distance from the door, the hesitation to knock overwhelming her, she lets out a deep long sigh.
"I will just see him, apologize and leave immediately. That shouldn't be so hard, should it?" She thought to herself, as she summoned courage from within her, allowing her hand give a light knock on the door, a smile unconsciously curving on her face as she awaited his reply that never came. Refusing to get discouraged, she knocked again, a bit louder than the first, as she prayed he would just reply, but no reply came.
"Tobin!" She called out softly, placing her ear on the door in a bid to listening to the room's movement.
"Could he have already fallen asleep?" She thought out loud with her ears still against the door which made a creaking sound, as it pushed open slowly.
Apparently the door was never locked as she took a step in. The room, which was dimly lit made it quite impossible for Sharon to take more steps.
"Tobin!" She called out again, as her eyes adjusted to the light of the room. She had been here before, so walking shouldn't be that impossible.
Moving away from the door, she wondered why he just wouldn't answer her. Was he that upset with her or what?
The questions went through her mind with every step she took, when her eyes caught glimpse of Tobin, who laid on the bed; He was deep asleep.
For some unknown reason, she found herself walking towards his bedside instead of outside through the door. Standing by his bed, she looked down at the sleeping young man who in her definition, was really handsome.
Sharon, herself knew that Tobin wasn't the first guy she had seen, but this sudden attraction was something she just couldn't explain as she found herself taking a seat on the bed besides the sleeping Tobin. Tobin was different for a fact, she could feel it in her heart.
She gasped when she noticed, for the first time, that he was actually shirtless. The rhythm of his beating heart seem to intrigue her as she felt her lips curve in a smile. She saw her fingers run through his face down to his chest, as a rush of electricity surged through her body. This feeling was strange to her as she had never been this close to the opposite sex before; she had always disliked boys coming close to her but all that has changed since she came to this house. She feels a connection with everybody in the house but something unexplainably special for Tobin.
As her touches continued, she noticed Tobin reacting to them and was about opening his eyes. Tobin seeing her like this would spell doom for her, as she quickly removed her hand, making for the door immediately when a strong grip held her back.
"What did you think you were doing?" Tobin asked with eyes still closed, a naughty smirk appearing on his face.
'Nothing! I was doing nothing. " Sharon replied defensively, as Tobin opened his eyelids in a bid to sparing her a glance.
"I just came to apologize to you concerning what happened earlier on." She added, as he kept a blank expression.
"So you are here not because you care if I was sick?" He asked in a calm voice, loosening his grip on her hand.
"I also came for that" she added, not giving room to silence, as Tobin raised his eyebrows in a way that Sharon felt was too familiar.
Then it hit her; her father, Mr Jackson always did that. Often times, she had tried it as a kid but never actually learnt the technique behind it. She actually found it funny that Tobin not only looked liked her dad but he could also raise his brow in that fashion.
"Well, are you going to apologize or you just intend stand there staring at me?"
He asked, pulling her back into reality from her world of thoughts, as she sighed out loudly.
"I am sorry Tobin, I should have believed you." She said with an apologetic tone, eyes on her feet, as she used her fingers in fiddling with the hem of her dress.
"If you are done with your apology, you can now leave my room." he replied coldly. "Also could you please stay away from me? I don't want to have troubles with dad."
he added, maintaining the coldness in his voice. Giving her the satisfaction of being totally forgiven, was something Tobin didn't want to do but he had also promised himself to stay away from her which he was willing to do.
Shocked at his reply, Sharon, nonetheless made an effort to speak but the right words seemed to fail her. She left his room quietly, feeling stupid for coming to meet him in the first place.
"I will stay away from him" she said to herself, as she felt a tear drop from her eyelids.
Tobin was sad when she left. He expected her to put up a fight. The memories of their first meeting flooded his mind, a smile curving on his face as he recalled how she had rudely spoken to him that day.
"I guess she just wasn't in the mood today." He said to himself, letting out a deep long sigh. He didn't mean to talk to her that way, as he hoped she would understand that he was only teasing her.
