"That was… in the past," Wood said hesitantly. The sign on his face screamed that he didn't want to talk about it, but he did.
"The past?"
"Yes. Years ago, when the corrupt officials took me down, they made sure to never let me rise. Using their influence with all kinds of noble," Wood explained as Frigs stood there confused.
"But you are a grand duke, it wouldn't be easy to take you down," He said, slightly not understanding the story.
Wood chuckled and shook his head, "My position was weak at the moment. Holding the title for just a few years, I have no influence outside of military careers and those officials are… too ambitious,"
Frigs stared at him, taking a deep breath and asking a question, "May I know the name of those officials?"
Wood smiled, "They are dead, most of them fell in battle, their name holds no importance because of that,"
