Chereads / Blood and Trigger: Investigative Mysteries / Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 - Case 1

Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 - Case 1

Arriving at the police station, Louis carefully parked the van is some area. With the van properly placed and locked, they then head out and made their way to their destination.

"Don't go walking farther from me." Louis spoke.

"Yeah-yeah, people are afraid of Nightmares so I shouldn't be near them." Red snarkily replies.

And as they walk from the where they are, some passersby took a glimpse at Red; particularly her horns.

Noticing the gazes from others, her face then reddens and she slowly gets closer to where Louis was walking. Grabbing the sleeve of his coat and never letting go of it.

"Quite the shy one, now are you?" Louis said

"S-shut up... you know how I react at sharp gazes."

"Relax will you, it's not like the people here can even hurt you."

"..."

Suddenly grabbing Red's hand, Red blushes as she feels the warmth of Louis grasp. Continuing to walk to their destination, they soon arrive not long after.

Entering the place, they were greeted with a normal looking station. With people in police uniforms doing their own businesses and others.

"Yo." Making his way to the counter, Louis greeted the lone officer siting in his desk.

Noticing the approaching Louis, the officer then stood up, greeting him in return. "Good morning sir Carroll and also you too miss Red."

"Hi..." Red quietly muttered.

"Might I know what both of you doing here?" The officer asked.

"Rachiel called for another case of hers." Louis replied. "Didn't really say much so I came here for details about it."

"Ah commissioner Rachiel you say... so it's the usual then?"

"It seems so."

"Well good luck with that sir Carroll. If you're looking for commissioner Rachiel she's at her office."

"Thanks."

Saying their goodbyes, both Louis and Red then made their way to Rachiel's office. Bumping unto others on their way.

Arriving at the door of the supposed office, Louis first knocked before entering. Inside they saw a fine-looking room, full with décor and with Rachiel sitting in her desk.

"Oh?" Rachiel uttered upon seeing both Louis and Red. "Quite the surprise. I thought that you both would arrive much later. Like earlier..."

"Don't take me as some sort of slacker Rachiel." Louis spoke.

"Commissioner Rachiel." Rachiel coldly utter.

"C-commissioner Rachiel... anyhow about the case that you were saying."

"Right... the case. Take a seat and we'll discuss about it."

Taking her request, Louis then took a seat from one the available chairs. Seating his ass comfortably near Rachiel's desk, he awaits for her to begin talking.

"You read any of the news as of lately?" Rachiel asked.

"No, why?" Louis answers.

"Figures..." Rachiel sighs. "To keep you speed up with things. Some people have been reported to be missing in the past few weeks, particularly in the areas of Rockwell."

"Rockwell?" Red echoed.

"It's some suburb, quite far from here. I heard that the scenery is very nice from there." Louis spoke.

"Good for you to still remember some areas of this city." Rachiel said. "Then I guess we can skip that part."

"Right.. So about the missing people?"

Taking a folder full of paper in her desk, Rachiel slowly passes the thing to the sitting Louis. Receiving the thing in hand, Louis then opens the folder and carefully read the contents inside.

.

.

"5 missing people including... the hell!?" Caught surprised at what he read. Louis can't help but say those words. Curious as why Louis reacted in such a way, Red began leaning close to him and asking some questions of her own.

"What seems to be the problem?" Red asked.

"In this list of missing people... two are BPSEA agents."

"And that's a problem because...?"

"I know that you're not very well verse in regards of BPSEA and its structures but let's just say that having 2 agents missing is essentially a far more problematic occurrence than having them dead."

"I don't get it?"

"No need to explain much really, miss high iq."

"Hmmmm...."

Closing the folder in his hand, Louis then switches his gaze at the still sitting Rachiel. "Mind telling why this is the case?" Louis asked.

"Before I called you here, I first called the BPSEA for investigation of the case, as standard procedure goes. They sent 2 agents, the ones you've just read and just as that report had written the 2 agents went missing, much like the people reported." Rachiel explains.

"How the hell such agents went missing though?"

"Don't know." Rachiel replies. "They just went and vanish all of the sudden like thin air. We tried investigating the case ourselves but we found no lead of the missing people and as well the agents."

"Have you tried reporting it to the BPSEA? These are missing agents here; I can't see them ignoring such a case."

"Already did. Complications they said, so the agent that they will be sending would probably arrive next week or so."

"The hell!? They won't be sending someone to investigate immediately!?"

"Quite the problematic circumstance to be meet, I know... That's why I'm essentially asking you to investigate this case."

"Fucking hell... could the BPSEA at least act to care about their agents." Louis angrily sighs

"..."

.

.

"We'll take the case... no need to look at me like that."

Closing her eyes and turning her chair back at Louis's gaze, Rachiel prompted them to go. Seeing the look, she gave to Louis just now. One can judge that she was at least concerned at him.

"I'm not going to dwell more in the past." Rachiel calmly spoke. "But try not to act more rashly will you... There are some people that actually give a shit about you than you might think."

"..."

Saying their goodbye's, both Louis and Red quietly left the police station. Feeling somewhat melancholic in earlier conversation.

And as they made their way back to where the van was, Red can't help but be annoyed at the current mood they are in. Expressing annoyance in her face and kicking Louis in the back of his knees.

"S-shit..." Caught surprise at what Red did, Louis almost fell from where he stands. Pissed at the smirking Red, he stared at her with a sharp gaze.

"Finally, you look more alive now." Red smugly spoke. "What the hell was that about anyway?"

"That's none of your concern." Louis said as he properly adjusts himself.

"Well now... you can't just tell me ignore such a thing, especially with such tension coming from both of you. I can already imagine both you fucking with passion o-ooohhh...."

"The hell are you talking about now?" Louis said with disgust on his face.

"Ahahaha come on now Louis. I'm a succubus, I can easily tell that miss hotass there has a thing for you."

"I know that you're kind of dumb but I never knew your delusions was already this far gone..."

"D-delusions!?" Hearing what Louis just said, Red's face reddens from anger. Clenching her hand to form a fist, she tries punching Louis which he easily blocks with his hand.

"How weak..." Louis mockingly spoke. "Is this really all the strength that the self-claimed world's strongest Nightmare can muster."

"F-fuck you! This is just a mere speck of my power." Red embarrassingly said. "I-I'm just holding back as to not kill you."

"Whatever you say... miss high iq."

"Hah! At least you're smart enough to understand magnificence of my vast mind"

"Sure..."

Ignoring the self-absorbed Red, Louis continues walking to the van. Seeing his figure slowly walk away, Red then soon followed. Being extremely close at his side as always.

"But seriously though, you both should seriously fuck." Red spoke, still insisting about said topic.

"Aside from your delusions, is sex the only thing in your mind."

"I always think of revolutionary ideas in my mind, but aside those your assumption would be correct." Red smugly spoke.

"Figures..."

"So does that mean, you'll have sex now?"

"No." Louis coldly said.

.

.

"Virgin..."

.

.

"Dumbass."

"Limp dick."

"Retard."

Their spouting of insults continued even after reaching van. With how limited the vocabulary of Red's compared to Louis, her insults just resulted to saying the same insults over and over again.

Claiming victory from their fight, Louis then happily drives off the van to their next destination. Beginning their investigation to the missing's people case and the mysteries that they'll soon meet.
