I'm taken by surprise, not sure what to say in response to her vague question. SHe could mean so many things; are you willing to live, are you willing to survive, are you willing to die, are you willing to bake... She had me stumped for an answer. Those mauve eyes stare me down, inquisitiveness burning within them. "Huh?" Was my lousy response.
Tallese didn't roll her eyes like I expected her to, but she did repeat the question once more politely. "Are you willing to become what you're truly meant to be?" Her eyes were deadly serious. As confused as I was, I wanted to know what she was talking about, even if she did elaborate a bit. She had me intrigued and I suppose I would be willing with my curiosity. Like, who am I truly meant to be? Some sales consultant, or a mermaid with a beautiful and lazy life under the sea?
Just as I was about to answer her question, Larose swoops in and hides me behind her frame, shielding me from their dagger-like eyes. "Enough of this! Pandora is only a freshling. They'll be none of that, Tallese. And if anyone has any objections," I peered my head around her shoulder and found Kamara looking away with an irritated face, but Tallese seemed very determined. "Speak them now, or keep your opinion on your tongue!" I felt anger pour from Larose; her rapid heartbeat pounding in her ribcage made me anxious at the outcome. I froze.
We waited a few moments before Larose nods in finality and grabs my wrist, dragging me out of the spacious and luxurious room I never had the chance to enjoy. Soon after, I feel a grab on my tail and gasp as I look back. It was the blue-tailed merman, and the smirk he sent made me a bit uncomfortable at first. When we slow to a stop he floats awfully close to me and the others file in around us. I felt his tail slide next to mine, trying to slither around my fins, and I gave him my attention as I wondered what he could possibly want. It annoyed me his tail wouldn't leave mine until he received the attention he wanted, so in order to be comfortable, I had to abide by his rules.
And I was never a good girl like everyone perceives.
His face appeared hard and uninviting, hiding any emotions from everyone. As I was about to turn away, I noticed the mischievous upturn of his lips. The hairs on my arms stood up and I understood what it meant when skin crawled. His tail was no longer near mine thankfully, and I decided to ignore the feeling of his eyes as Larose pulls me along after her. I try to keep my tail close, avoiding Kanto's touch as much as possible. I didn't need to be his new obsession or toy, nor did I need another relstionship at this point. I wanted to me done with males, and females are included.
We swam through a meadow of seaweeds to find a marvelous coral reef equipped with small neighborhoods made out of the rock, coral, and other plants. The reef was quite beautiful to watch the fish starting to wake up and come out of their homes. It was a beautiful sight to see so many exotic fish around and to actually be here, in the flesh. It's almost as if all my underwater fantasies are coming true. A smile lit my face and I was curious to play with the fish, but Larose kept me back when I started to swim.
I glance behind my shoulder, finding her azure eyes. Larose gives me a bright smile, then nods to someone behind me. I turned, finding Kanto giving me a wide, sharp smile that chilled me to my core. Shivering from his stare, I watched silently, curiously, as he expertly crept over to the creatures in the coral. I watched him slither and sneak behind rocks, watching the exotic animals like prey. At the moment I realize what he was sent to do, he tore them apart before I could make a sound. With my mouth wide open, I watched in horror as blood scattered the water. I was too much in shock to move from the cruel, yet beautiful creatures surrounding me for my own safety.
