In the immense sky that I saw, there were several elves flying. Some carried huge boxes, others just small goods.
In order not to delay deliveries, they established that only merchant elves could fly the roads. The view was really quite incredible, I could spend hours just enjoying that splendid view.
Walking through the mall, I see that elves are not used to having visits from big names. Cassiria and I were being harassed by the eyes of several elves. Merchants and customers alike stopped what they were doing to watch us pass.
Cassiria looked annoyed, after all, I was told that the elf-queen Lukia almost never leaves the Central Tree.
"W-How many people looking at us... I-are you okay Aros-sama?"
"I am used to."
WHAT A LIE!
I'm not even used to it, I'm shaking and holding myself not to do anything I'll be embarrassed about later.
"Probably because Lukia almost never leaves the Central Tree, you're being harassed by many. But don't worry, they get used to it and everything is normal."
"You're right… by the way, Aros-sama, thank you so much for today!"
"For what?"
"For saving me from Ori and Horu's humiliation."
Ori and Horu were the elves' names, only now I realized that I didn't know any of them.
"No need to thank me!", obviously a simple sentence like that wouldn't make Cassiria stop thanking me.
Walking blindly down the shopping street, she'd realized she didn't know where she was going.
"Cassiria, I asked you out, but I don't even know where to take you, do you have any recommendations?"
"Ah... Y-Yes I have some, but I don't think you'll like-"
"LET'S GO THEN!!!"
I'm really curious to see what places Cassiria goes, as she is Lukia's assistant. I imagine it's something like a market, or a place with lots of flowers. After all, Lukia's room is full of them.
...
Arriving at the recommendation I'm surprised, it's an auction house.
At an auction house here in the elf kingdom, from what I heard, it's an auction that is open 24 hours a day, auctioning off any product. Magic stones, swords, spears, bows, rare forest foods, a rare animal. Basically everything.
"Do you go here?", I ask Cassiria, who had her eyes wide and bright.
"Yes, it's wonderful here! All Lukia-sama's decorations I buy here!"
The elves who frequented were of high caliber. They all wore elegant clothes as if it were an important ceremony among nobles.
I give my money bag a quick dig, and I'm still surprised I have enough. I'm too happy and I'm already looking at shop windows.
"Aros-sama, I almost forgot... Those coins you have are useless here!", Cássiria gets worried and pulls my arm taking me out of the auction and almost dragging me down the street.
"Where are we going?", even though Cassie holds my arm, I feel like an elf's hand is smooth and soft.
"At an Exchange House, there you can exchange your kingdom's coins for the currency here!"
I confess that I hadn't thought that the coins didn't work, that is to say that there are several different coins for each kingdom.
In the House of Exchange, there was another elf, tall and beautiful. She stood behind a counter, wore a suit for her uniform, her hair was black and long. Her lips were dyed a pretty seductive red.
"Hello! I came to exchange some coins!", Cássiria calls the receptionist's attention.
When she looks at Cassiria, she opens up a big smile.
"Cassiria! Hello, how long!"
The Elf seemed to already know Cassiria, her excitement overflowing her face. But all that ended, from the moment she saw me, and she started to widen her eyes as if in surprise.
"Y-Are you Aros Silverstein? The Lord of the Realm of Lalario?"
"Eh... Yes! Nice to meet you!"
Her expression, obviously impressed that I was there. She leaves the counter, stands in front of me, then kneels.
"The pleasure is all mine, Aros Silverstein-sama!"
"No need for formality, could you say your name?"
"M-My name is Aista Grauhs, I'm a receptionist at Casa de Câmbio, if you feel free, Aros Silverstein-sama."
She gets up and looks at me. Like Lukia, Aista was also very close to my height, maybe she was 3 centimeters apart.
"Aista Grauhs, I came to exchange coins from my kingdom, is there any way?"
"But of course! Please wait a moment, we will take your money to analyze and give you the equivalent in our currency!"
"I'll be waiting, thank you!"
We both bow to each other, Aista walks back to the counter with the bag of money she had. While we wait, Cássiria and I stay on a nearby bench.
"Aros-sama, you didn't have to give all your money, we don't even know if there will be something that relevant for you."
Sir?
"Maybe there's something I want, and that's just a portion of all my money, not to brag of course."
Cassiria is happy, she waits again quietly, however, swinging her legs.
"You know, Aros-sama, my whole life, I never had many people to hang out with. My mom and dad abandoned me when I was six, so I was taken to an orphanage, and that's where I met Lukia-sama."
"Lukia, did you grow up in an orphanage?"
"No, her family owned that orphanage. She once went there to meet other kids, and we just became close."
"So why are you so afraid of being fired or something? If Cassiria is close to you, it's pretty hard for her to send you away."
"I know that, but she's not the only one who controls how things are, the ministers decide how far she goes to sleep. So if I'm not useful to Lukia-sama, I'll be sent away and have nowhere to go."
"I see, it must be really hard. I'm still new when it comes to politics, I just became Lord overnight, I try to get used to it, but it's still hard."
"I didn't tell you this to make you feel sorry for me, nothing like that, I just wanted to tell you that... I'm happy to go for a walk with someone important and really nice!"
Cássiria hugs me and I'm surprised, it doesn't happen every day (Especially for a single guy like me). But quickly she lets go, and is embarrassed.
"I-I'm sorry Aros-sama, I just got carried away by the moment."
Even before she starts to blame herself, I hug her again
"Aros-sama?"
"Don't worry, Cassiria. You deserve better than that."
Before in agony, as if it were bothering me. She relaxes her arms and body, allowing herself to be held by me.
"Oops...am I interrupting something?"
Aista sneaks in, but with a beautiful smile on her face. Cassiria pulls away from me quickly with great shame.
"Here Aros Silverstein-sama, the equivalent of what you had for our coin."
In Aista's hand was a bag much larger than I had, and apparently with far more coins.
"Damn, all this?"
"Yes, that's the equivalent amount of your coins to ours!"
She hands me the bag of coins, and I feel an abnormal heaviness. That many coins, it would be dangerous to carry it around the street (at least in my world, yes).
So I use a spell that Alfred had told me about earlier. The Dimension of Light, a spell where I can store anything in another private dimension. So I place the bag of coins inside the other dimension.
"Great! Let's get back to the auction!"
"Yea!"
"See you later, Aista-san!"
I walk away, waving back goodbye. Cássiria was very excited and is walking very fast to the auction. And all I do is follow her.
