When Father Lu saw little Jingyi was tied up and looked like a lost doll, his heart ached like a sharp knife stabbing it.
He was even more in pain when he saw his wife lying in a pool of blood and was dead.
He had never thought that his wife would leave them so suddenly. Holding back his tears, he walked towards little Jingyi and untied her. He then carried her out.
He asked some men in black to take his wife's body. He wanted to burry her in a grave that they made together for the two of them.
"Jingyi, sweetheart. Don't worry, daddy's here. Daddy promise you, I will avenge your mom. Daddy's gonna protect you even harder."
Father Lu suppressed his anger and gently stroked little Jingyi's hair. He then sent his daughter to the hospital to check her condition.
Little Jingyi's eyes were lifeless. The scene where her mother got shot kept playing through her head. And finally, she passed out due to shock and exhaustion.
When she woke up again, she had sealed the incident from her memory as if nothing happen in which the doctor confimed that she had a trauma.
The trauma would lead her to a selective amnesia where she chose to close the incident in her memory. She will not remember if she didn't want to.
Father Lu had no choice but to let her daughter live with no memory of the incident. He would not want her to live in pain. He rather bear the pain to himself to suffer.

"Ahhhhhh...."
Lu Jingyi woke up from the nightmare in the middle of the night. She was breathing heavily, panting and having cold sweats. Tears kept falling from her eyes.
Was that from her memory? Her mother was killed in front of her. Why? Why did she suddenly dream of it?
Why did her mother have to suffer? Why was she so powerless? It's her fault that her mother died.
No wonder she couldn't remember. It's because she didn't want to remember her mother's death. It was too tragic and too awful.
Lu Jingyi covered her face with both of her hands. Tears won't stop falling. She kept crying until she exhausted herself and eventually snoozed away.
The rest of the night, she curled herself and and wrapped her hands around her knees. She covered herself tightly with a blanket to find security.

The next day.
Her eyes were swollen from crying all night. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at her messy face.
Traces of tears steaming lines on her face, two big eye bags and swollen red eyes. Her hair were also messy making her appearance look hideous.
She kept thinking about what she dreamt yesterday. Was it because of hearing Mo Zhexuan's being kidnapped made her dreamt about her kidnapping?
In her dream, she faintly heard Father Lu was speaking to someone about a mastermind was behind the kidnapping when she was hospitalized.
There must be someone who hated her family to the core and went through all that shit to kidnapp her and her mother. What grudge did the person have with them?
After calming down, she cleaned herself and dressed up. She decided to take a leave and talk it out with Father Lu.
She sent a text to Mo Zhexuan not to drive her to work today since she was taking a leave.
