"Zaylyn, sweetie come on. It's going to be great, you're going to have so much fun," My Dad enthused. Currently trying to get me to go to one of his races. "All of my races are very entertaining to watch when I'm in it." He said holding his hood up high.
"Wow dad, a bit cocky." I rolled my eyes taking a sip of my oil. My dad always has a thing for me trying to go for his races. I do, the thing is I rather be here in Radiator springs with Red and Lizzie watching the race...at least today. I used to go to his races and I really did enjoy them, I just don't have the energy to go.
"C'mon Zay you never show up to your dad's races. He would want you to come this time." My mom said, driving to the side of me and Dad. That's the biggest lie she has ever told.
"Mom, as your daughter, I am ashamed that for a lawyer, you would lie in front of everyone. Name me one time that you haven't seen me at Dad's races?" I said, frowning a bit.
"Today and I refuse for you to miss this one important race. Why miss these races when you haven't missed any other races? You have a perfect streak." she enthused.
"I just don't feel like traveling for a long time on the plane so with that being said," I slid the oil can to my Dad reversing out of the V8 station, to the cozy cone winking at my parents. "You ladies have fun. I'm going to sit this one out." I drove into my cone and closed the door as quickly as possible.
I love my parents, but I refuse to be shoved in an airplane to go to San Diego raceway for the Athena 600 for a long amount of hours, just to watch a whole bunch of precision instruments of speed and aerodynamics race in a circle half the day when I can have much fun here. No offense Dad. Mom is right though, I will end up breaking my streak of going to dad's races. It only takes one time to miss one. One can turn into...forever. It really must be worth it to dad if he's still racing. I wonder how it feels to be on the track. With over a million cars watching your every move. I mean, He even has Paparazzi following him almost everywhere he goes. I'm just glad that they aren't allowed here in Arizona, RS. that will just be way too much to deal with.
"Zaylyn, come out for a minute. I wanna talk with you." My dad's voice projected from the other side of my door. I held my breath as I clicked the small pedal to open my door. On the other side, revealed my father smirking. What could he possibly be smirking about? I drove out of my cone, mentally rolling my eyes. "What's up Dad?" I questioned.
"Your mother and I have decided, you have no choice but to come to the race," He bluntly said. Before I could fix my mouth to say something to fight against it, he interrupted me. "But, while you're with the team, I wanted to give you a chance to be my crew chief." He smiled.
I raised my lids at him in confusion. "I don't even know that much about racing, Dad. Besides, isn't that Uncle Mater's job anyway?" Sure Uncle Mater messed up on Dad's race, but that wasn't his fault. Due to outdated cars or should I say, lemons tried to kill the both of them during Dad's race tour.
"Yeah but, I talked to him and he agreed to stay home so you can have your moment."
"Oh, so Uncle Mater can stay here but I can't?"
"I'll take you to a fancy dinner." he teased.
Bribery. I hated when he did that. He's only doing this because he owes me anyways from the last race he had. The only difference was that I bet that if he didn't push himself the whole race, he would still win the race and he wouldn't pop a tire, he only needed gas.Of course, I won but, he hadn't the time to actually feed me. But this time, I'm holding him against it. I frowned and rolled my eyes at him, knowing that he won me over. "Okay, fine." I huffed.
Dad smiled, placing a light kiss on my headlight. "Thanks, Lyn. I won't let you down. I have to finish preparing the team for the racing tour but make sure you pack up tonight, we leave first thing tomorrow."
"Wait, Racing tour? I thought you were racing in San Diego?"
"I just came back from that tour. Turns out there's going to be another World Grand Prix race happening. Without all the near death situations, Security will be heavily guarded this time. I'll explain more tomorrow while we are on our way to Japan." With that he rushed out of the parking lot, leaving me even more confused.
Well this is just great. Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself and we all come back in one piece. Am I the only one that is Somewhat worried about this situation?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I...Am...Exhausted. I didn't get that much sleep at all. The worst part is, Dad kept me up throughout the day making me go throughout the whole town to help him with the team, supplying them for the next tour. I get cranky when I don't have the proper sleep, if I don't have my energy drink to last until we get to the airport, someone will feel my wrath.
"Alright team, time to go," Dad commanded. The team moved in a single line into a bigger helicopter so we can all fit in. I was after Ramone before my dad stopped me. I slightly glared at him but he couldn't tell because of tired eyes squinting. "There's a surprise for you when you get to the airport. I thought, If you were going on the tour, you might as well have someone there with you in the pits to make it worthwhile." he informed a tired me, giving me a small smile.
"Thanks dad." I yawned, as I continued on the helicopter. I heard my dad chuckle. I saw mom pull next to Dad and they started to convert with each other. By that time, I closed my eyes and started to catch up with sleep. I felt the weight of the helicopter and we lifted off. I don't understand why we just take the helicopter all the way there...But then again it is a journey to get to Japan and this will need a miracle to make it there. But, on the bright side we get to fly in first class with hot towels.
20 minutes later, my dad woke me up from my nap. This traveling is so much work. I just want to be able to sleep. Without interruption. Right now, we're waiting for my surprise to get here so we can board the plane. I constantly asked him what the surprise was but he wouldn't budge. I even asked the team and some of them didn't even know what the surprise was or some just wouldn't tell me. My dad even got a bit annoyed and told me to go watch the planes fly. I didn't have anything better to do so, that's exactly what I did.
"Hey, Lyn, long time no talk." I heard a familiar voice say. I turned around to be greeted by a purple Corvette and my dad right by her side. My childhood friend. My eyes opened as wide as I could open them. I had such adrenaline that I could race circles around her. "Might I be talking to my childhood friend Cherish, or am I talking to a famous assistant who works for a racer Cherish?" I smirked.
Cherish playfully rolled her eyes, scoffing. "Oh, stop it. I'm still the same car you know and love, assistant or not," She Chuckled. "Besides, It's not that much of a job when you're just an intern but I'm appreciative of what I got. Thanks to your dad." She said glancing over at him.
"It's the least I could do, You helped me out big time with Zaylyn when she ran off with Chick and a tractor to Vegas." He said, glancing over at me.
"If you guys hadn't showed up, I would have been rich at a resort with everything I ever wanted to have." I retaliated.
"Hadn't we showed up, you would've been somewhere else on the map doing something you'll even regret." Cherish said.
"And by resort, he was most likely going to have you do his dirty work, keep you hostage and ruin your sweet little life," Dad responded. "But lucky for me, I manage to be gifted with a stubborn daughter. The only question that I have for you is, why bring the tractor?"
"Chick told me if I wanted to be rich, I needed to trade in something valuable. Now that I think about it, It was probably a trap. He insisted that I bring you or mom but of course, I was determined to trade in the tractor instead."
"See what I mean?" he said, leaning in close to Cherish.
We all shared a laugh. Times like this, I miss. Dad and I shared moments like this with each other but it never really felt complete without another loved one with us. Our laughter soon died down when a black and neon blue high tech race car entered the doors of the airport, with his pit crew following right behind him. I looked at my dad who's face immediately into rival mode. I glanced over at Cherish who was just confused just as I was. As the car got closer, my attention went straight to his side. 'IGNTR' must be his sponsorship and his racing number is 20 or should I say 2.0. His expression that he is projecting feels like he's hiding a lot of things inside. His blue eyes locked onto my blue pearl ones, but I never broke eye contact with him. He did a slight tsked and stopped driving. I could tell he was analyzing us by the way he looked at Cherish,Dad, then me. "And look what we have here," he said as he started to drive closer to us with his crew staying where they were."Well, if it isn't Lightning McQueen and his teenage daughter, Zaylyn Aurora McQueen." he said as he flashed a devilish smile to me.
"That's Ms. McQueen to you Carbon Boy," I corrected, moving in front my dad."And you are?"
Dad maneuvered back to the side of me as did Cherish. "Someone who is going to beat your dad in all three races."
"You seem so confident in yourself for a car that looks so fragile. Don't push yourself when you're out there or you'll combust."I smirked. Jackson sneered, looking me up and down. He was taken aback by my response to the point where his team drove up right behind him. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, McQueen."
Dad glared at him like he wanted to rip him apart. This is the angriest I have ever seen my father since Chick tried to make himself relevant to the media by Carnapping me. "Run along Storm, before this turns into something way worse than what it has to be." Dad said through gritted teeth, slightly revving his engine. "I'll see you out there McQueen, If you manage to face your fear of losing to me again." With that, he drove away with his crew right behind him.
Cherish let out a big huff of air as she looked at us, still glaring the car down until he got to the TSA line. "So that's the famous Jackson Storm. Still arrogant and stuck up as usual." Cherish said, breaking the silence between us. I immediately went from tense to confused. I shook my head and blinked a couple of times before bringing my attention back to my dad. "Woah, woah, woah, what do you mean Jackson Storm? That's Jackson Storm?!" I questioned. I heard he's the guy that made Dad crash. The car that made Dad put in another car to race for him.
"I Thought you knew that was Storm." Cherish and Dad said in unison.
"Obviously not since someone failed to tell me about his last race."
"It was all over the media, How didn't you know about my crash?"
"Well, to jog your memory, you and mom thought it was totally okay to send me off to Sarge's and Filmore's boot camp/School of love to gain self defense skills and get over trauma which helped by the way, but, they only told me about your crash. So I had that going on for me."
A wave of guilt hit him directly in the face. He lowered his eyes and sighed. "You're right, I should have told you when you came back...we just didn't want you to worry too much."
I gave him a small smile. "Dad, It's fine really, I got over it." Though it did take me a while to get over it, I realized that my parents were only trying to help me out mentally. Even though they don't exactly know what happened in Vegas, I'll keep that a secret until I feel ready. I still have some time to spear before they call our group up to board the plane. I let Cherish and my Dad know that I was going to explore the airport before our flight. I don't drive too far, I only went to CarBucks to get a quick snack because I didn't have breakfast. I was in front of an orange muscle car and an old fashioned black truck. I was looking at the cars rushing through the airport to make it to their flight. The group of cars buying their tickets. The best part that brings cars together is the airport. An ability to meet and see everything new. Difference is key.
"Oh my God!" A sharp ear piercing scream was heard throughout the whole airport. Almost the whole airport turned to the direction of the scream. I drove out the line to see a crowd of cars surrounded all together in a circle. I drove to the commotion and tried to squeeze through the cars until I saw a bunch of cars with microphones, boom mics, and cameras everywhere. Reporters yelling out random questions. I looked at Cherish who was right next to my Dad and something was off about her. She looked panicked. She never was fond of random surprises, she's probably the one that screamed. I looked at Dad covering Cherish as best as he could to protect her from the random flashes. Luigi and Guido started to push past the paparazzi, attempting to make a path for them to pass through. But knowing my dad, He isn't leaving to get somewhere safe unless I'm with him or I'm somewhere safe.
An All white and light blue Jaguar shaped car drove through the crowd of yelling and eager reporters, straight to the team and my Dad. As they started to communicate with each other, I studied my dad's expressions. He seemed a bit perplexed about whatever she was telling him. He finally nodded his head in agreement with a worried look. I drove towards my dad, looking at Cherish.
"Dad, is everything alright? What's going on?"
He sighed but immediately went to parent mode. "Zaylyn, this is Cora Moran.She's a flight attendant for Epsilon, She's been ordered to take us to our flight as soon as possible." he explained to me. Still a bit puzzled, She eagerly drove in front of us to Guido. "There isn't that much time, We really must be going now." Her British accent sounded strong as her green eyes shined in the light. It's something about her that I can't exactly put my wheel on. Why must everything feel so suspicious today? Something is going to happen, I just know it. We finally reached the plane and were directed to our spots. The plane was very vacant. Nobody on board but the team, Cora, and hopefully the pilot as well. We still were in first class and I sat next to Cherish, who was a bit more calm than before. Across from us was Dad and Ramone while Cora was in the middle passing out oil to everyone.
"Thank you for saving our bumpers back there, Miss Moran." Fillmore said.
"Oh please, Miss Shiftwell is just fine." She responded, giving Cherish and I our can of oil. Her eyes went wide as she passed us our cans. I knew something was up. Wasn't her last name Moran? Why did she say something different? I looked around to see if anyone else caught what she said but it seems like nobody did. You Guys can definitely notice the fact that she saved you guys but not her messing up her last name?!
Men.
"Miss Shiftwell?" I questioned. She looked around the room nervously, not knowing what to say.
"Don't you mean Miss Moran?" Cherish chimed into the conversation. Oh thank God I wasn't the only one who caught that. We both shared a look, then looked back at the attendant. "Miss Moran, would it be possible for us to meet the pilot before we take off?" Dad asked, interrupting our interrogation.
"Yes, I'll uh...I'll get him right away Mr. McQueen." With that, she scrambled off to the front of the plane. Dad sent us a stern look probably thinking that we were in the wrong for that. "What?" I asked, Breaking the silence.
"Why did you guys cross-question that poor attendant?"
"Did you not hear her mess up her name?" Cherish questioned.
"Mater messes up his name all the time, she probably recently changed her name to something that she's getting used to." Dad strikes back.
"You mean to tell me, that didn't sound doubtful to you?" I quizzed. Cherish looked out the window next to her. "Sounds doubtful to me." she mumbled.
"No, It didn't. You guys are just over reacting in fact," Dad was interrupted by Cora and the sleek Aston Martin black car driving in. Oh c'mon! An Aston Martin as our pilot? Are you really pulling my tires right now?! My mouth fell slightly open along with Cherish. "Hello everyone my name is O'brien Gael and I'll be your pilot all the way to Tokyo from Arizona ." whose voice is also British. Coincidence? I think not...Or maybe it is...But I'm going with mostly not!
Everyone greeted the pilot except for Cherish and I. But I do have a hunch that Cherish might think that I could be overreacting. Even if I am, I'll accept my defeat but why give me a reason in the first place then? "Miss. Moran, I'll like to deeply apologize for my daughter and her friend. Sometimes my daughter will take the wrong idea and go about things the wrong way," He said, almost staring daggers into my soul. Yikes. "As an apology gift and token of my gratitude, I'll like to invite you two to my race tomorrow, Expenses are covered." He smiled mirror to mirror.
He's got to be joking right?
"Thank you Mr. McQueen. My attendant and I are big fans of your races but I'm afraid I have to sit this one out with plane duties and all. Cora however would be glad to attend." O'brien said, as a flustered Cora nodded.
"No worries, I'm positive after work you can come to dinner with us?"
"Absolutely!"
"Well then It's settled!"
He looked at me with a cheeky smile before winking at me. I can't believe what I'm hearing right now. Talk about making the tour worthwhile. I bit my lower lip staring at my Dad. "I don't know what's going on here but I'm just a little bit concerned about the number of lunatics on this trip. My limit is one."
Dad rolled his eyes and slightly twisted his lips to the side. "They're coming with us."
"But I..."
"No buts, Now I suggest you pipe down, relax and enjoy the 11 hour flight." He said closing his eyes.
Parents I tell you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11 hours soon passed and as soon as we got off the plane, it was a swarm of fans and paparazzi waiting for us at the door. I almost forgot that I'm the daughter of an veteran racer who never gave up his racing career but instead, gave the racing stick to another rookie. We're at the Hotel right now relaxing until the party that's in an hour. The girls already have their own room while the guys are in theirs, So that means that we got paired up with Cruz. But she isn't here, she's outside the Hotel room talking to Dad at the moment.
While we were waiting to leave, I was reading a book while cherish vibed out to Dubstep. This was new to her. Her boss gave her a list of different artists to listen to while she was away with us. She's more into mellow girly music. Hopefully he doesn't change her too much.
"This MartinGarrix Guy has sick talent!" Cherish said, bursting with excitement.
"I'm not sure whether working with this racer boss guy of yours is someone I should be worried about?"
"What do you mean?" she chuckled.
"I mean, Such an innocent little car like yourself goes into his care so blindly, not knowing that he is slowly changing you."
"Changing me?"
"You went from 'Hey there Delilah' to 'creatures lie here, looking through the window." I smirked.
"HaHa, very funny Lyn. I'll let you know that I took interest in this type of music. He's also quizzing me on the name of the songs." She said, Biting her lip and looking away from me. I bursted into laughter as she soon joined me. Our laughter soon died down as we both relaxed our tires and sulked to the ground.
"You girls having fun?" A female voice said. I looked up to see a Yellow race car drive in. Her hood was covered with Blue spray paint that said Dinoco 51. She has the best sponsorship out there in the racing world. Dad sure knows how to have one heck of his race. He doesn't do it for an empty cup he does it for what's behind it, So much more deeper than that.
"By fun, you mean reminiscing about tonight's party right?" I asked, slightly laughing.
"Think of all the different food we are going to eat! Not to mention the different racers we'll get to see eek!" Cherish Squealed.
"Oh, You mean like Shu Todoroki and Lewis Hamilton?" Cruz eyes got wider hearing about our conversation about us gushing about the cute racers.
I like her already. "Obvi! What about Jeff Gorvette, Miguel Camino, and-" before Cherish could finish, I interrupted her. "Max Schnell!" I bellowed, forgetting that cars are probably trying to sleep.
"Okay One, Cruz, Don't encourage them, they're both 16. Two, if I see any of you girls flirting or so much as look at them you both are grounded," Cherish opened her mouth to speak but Dad of course didn't let her talk. "Yes, that includes you too Cherish Jenna Dream and Cruz Ramirez." they both pouted and looked down at the ground in disappointment. "Three, You guys are forgetting about Carla Veloso. The youngest racer in the racing racing industry."
She is the youngest racer that's back in the race. I'm actually happy that the racers from the last race have a chance to race again for this year, let's just hope that there won't be any near death situations. That actually reminds me, Dad invited Cora to the party tonight as well. I tried to convince Cherish to help me spy on her but all she said was, "She's going to be next to us the whole time, why do we need to spy on her for? We aren't going to take it that far." She also said that she's going to keep an eye on me to make sure I don't "ruin" this moment for her.
"Alright girls, it's time to start heading out, I got to take my runway shots." Dad said driving out the door. I rolled my eyes as the girls and I followed him out the hotel. We waited a couple of minutes for Cora to show up. She was a bit nervous, but that was only because she had a chance to be with famous people. We finally arrived at the party, dad took his pictures for the media, and we were now heading down to the party. Everything looks so colorful. The theme, the music, the cars, everything is so in sync.
"Alright girls, I expect you guys to be on your best behavior," Dad Reminded. "Now what are the top three rules for tonight?"
"No freaking out the other racers or trying to challenge them into a deadly non-fair race." Said Cruz.
"Be respectful even to your enemies, be ladylike, and notify security if we feel unsafe and group up immediately." Cherish said.
"No taking a large amount of really spicy foods or even foods that are new to us." I finished. Hopefully he doesn't make me say the last rule." I looked at my Dad with a nervous smile plastered right on my face.He stared at me with a look that knew what I was up to. I rolled my eyes, "No talking the guy racers unless you're with us to be supervised. "I huffed out of frustration.
"That's my girl, now you girls go ahead and have fun, remember to group up and don't be late when Randy comes on stage. Stay safe!" He shouted as he started to drive off.
"I'm going to talk to Shu, I'm old enough to handle myself. See you girlies later." and with that Cruz Sped off and disappeared with the crowd. "Yeah, that 11 hour flight with the jet lag made me hungry, and the mini drinks at the hotel didn't help me out at all. You girls coming?" Cherish asked us. I looked at Cora, while she looked at the both of us. She'll be alone if she doesn't come with us and she might hang out with the others. But then Dad might get mad at us for not keeping her company.
"I'll meet up with you guys in 20? I have a friend here who I haven't seen for a long time." She said.
"That's cool, we'll meet up at the bottom of the elevator. See ya at 20!" Cherish said, pushing me away from Cora. We drove up the ramp and made our way to a short line of cars waiting for their orders to be done. As we waited in line, We started to reminisce about the last time Uncle Mater was here and he ate the wasabi. I wish He didn't have to stay home, he could have definitely come along. Maybe I can talk to Dad to make him fly Mater out here. When we got up to the front, Cherish started to tell the Forklift her order while I zoned out looking around the building. I noticed Cora driving alone. Didn't she say that She was going to meet up with her friend or whatever? She doesn't look suspicious but I just need to know what she's up to.
"I'll be right back, I have to go to the ladies room." I informed my best friend.
"What do you want me to get for you?"
"Surprise me!" With that, I drive off to go follow Cora.
I tried to stay away from her as much as possible. Driving behind Pillars, Trying to blend in with the crowd, or just staying away from a safe distance. Nothing seemed off about her while I was following her. All she did was drive around like she was looking for someone...but in a very low profile matter. How can she be so calm? I might throw a slight tantrum and forget that person ever existed, and maybe have more fun without them. As she drove off on the ramp, she was completely oblivious that I was following her, let's keep it that way. I just hope no one catches me, Dad and Cherish would kill me and probably sell my spare parts online. She soon drove behind a pillar but out came a pink car. Confused, I drove to the pillar but nobody was there- It was a Disguise?! I knew something was up! Ugh that Liar!
A buzzing and beeping noise soon brought me back out of my thoughts. A royal blue camaro caught my attention but he was looking at his camera popping out of his headlight. He looked at Cora and smiled and put the camera back in his headlight. Cora drove over to him in a very flirty style.
"Oh, Hello." She greeted.
"Hello." He smiled.
"A Volkswagen Karmann Ghia has no radiator."
"That's because it's air cooled."
Is this code? Who in their right mind would start a conversation off like this?!
"Great. I'm Agent Shiftwell, Holley Shiftwell from the Tokyo Station," Wait a minute, that last name. Cora Moran wasn't her real name! It was just a cover up no wonder why she messed up her last name. "I have a message from London." She relayed to the camaro. He quickly looked around their surroundings which caused me to hide for a quick second.
"Not here." He said. They both drove away into the elevator, leaving a distraught me behind. I can't believe this. There are so many thoughts going on, I don't know how to deal with this situation. All I know is that I need to keep an eye on them still. I turned around but before I could drive off, I was faced with the same racer that I saw at the airport. Dad's enemy. Great, just great.
"Still haven't had enough at the airport?" I said sarcastically.
He scoffed as he looked me up and down. Perfect, he's analyzing me again. Hopefully he didn't see me spying on them. "What were you doing just now?"
"Exploring the scenery."
"By exploring you mean stalking the same car for the last 15 minutes? Yeah, I don't believe that for a second," Crap, he's on to me. "So tell me what you were doing just now and I'll leave you alone and drive away like this never happened." He smirked.
"Really?" I asked raising my lids up.
"No." He said bluntly, making my expression go right back to annoyed.
"You know what, I don't know why I decided to believe you. So what are you here for? Are you here to gloat?" I said, slowly driving off. He caught up with me. Rule number two, Be polite to other cars, even to your enemies. Try to keep it cute Zay, don't let whatever he says get to you. If he pushes you, you push him harder. "I couldn't help but to notice the fact that you're all alone."
"I might be, so?"
"Didn't daddy assign you a bodyguard to look after you?"
"No, because my Dad actually trusts me to be by myself."
"Even after the Vegas incident."
I froze. The moment where I actually felt chills. He couldn't possibly know about this. None of that was my fault, I...it was all Chick- "How do you know about that?"
He hummed in responses. He started to drive around me very slowly. For the first time in forever, This made me feel scared. "Racers talk, bet you didn't know some cars were there to witness it, did you? Of course, your Dad paid the media to keep their mouth to hush, but not everyone wants money."
"So I take it that you want something from me?" Please don't ask for anything to do with publicity.
"I don't want anything from you..yet. I just came here to tell you that," He got closer making me even more nervous. I closed my eyes tight, preparing for his next move. Thank goodness that Dad isn't near me, I broke the rule that might have me crushed. "Your food is getting cold." he chuckled, his chuckle made me shiver. It sounded so cold and evil like he was up to something...
Wait!
"Oh no! Cherish!" I sped off from him, racing away from him. I don't think I was gone that long. I hope I wasn't. I was so busy worrying about Holley that I forgot about her. How did Jackson know that I was getting food with her. That would be so uncalled for if he was spying on me. He'll be the king of Hypercriticism. By the time I got to the eating area, I started to look for Cherish, but I couldn't find her anywhere. I even asked other cars where she was but nobody wasn't paying attention to anything or anyone but themselves. I was about to drive down the ramp to try to find her, I saw Holley making her way down to the hall but I kept driving. I'll deal with her later. I ended up the second level looking over at the cars. Maybe I'll get a clear look from here. As I looked around, I ended up seeing The team at the bottom of the floor. I soon rushed to them and Saw Cherish, she scolded me for taking so long in the ladies room. But for some odd reason, I can't get Jackon's words out of my head. Is he trying to black mail me with the Vegas incident? Or could it just be him getting into my head. Dad will never feel the need to pay the media to keep my incident a secret...Would he?
"Hey, Lyn, you alright?" I looked to the side of me to see a worried best friend of mine. I gave her a reassuring smile. 'Yeah, I'm doing just fine." I lied. She nodded and looked forward to the stage to see Dad and Jackson be introduced on stage.
I just want the truth.
