It was close to midday and not long until lunch when Soo-Ah finally reached her room. She had struggled to arrive home in time and had had to run for half of the way back to the sumptuous villa she called home. Trying to catch her breath and fanning herself with her hands to cool down, her mind was still weighing on the matrons' suggestions while her feet had a mind of their own. It took Soo-Ah a couple of moments to realise she had no issues stepping inside her chamber because the door was wide open. She stopped in the doorway, hazed.
Bora sat slumped on the desk chair, patiently waiting for her. "I hope my mistress' headache and fatigue are gone by now," ironically phrased the maid, straightening her back and eyes prodding in search of the truth.
Shaking off the surprise, Soo-Ah responded in a grave tone, going along with the charade. "Indeed, I feel better. You are too kind to come and check on me. I took a good nap and went outside for some fresh air."
