Such angst. So much worrying.
The last time Soo-Ah went through the torments of the nine hells was back when she stood under the awning of her grandfather's command tent until the early hours of the morning, awaiting his return from battle. With no thirst, no hunger, and no need for sleep, biting the cuticles around her fingers until blood was shed, she would have gladly bled more if only she would have been by his side, placing her blade in his service and making sure he was kept from harm.
If only, if only, if only...
If only she would have stayed by Sung-Ho's side, offering her blade to his service. If only he had accepted it. Not knowing if he was safe, was torture and pain. It sliced her being in the same manner as hearing he was dead.
All these thoughts were going round and round in her head while she looked absent-minded during the usual evening get-together in the servant's quarters.
