Bora stared at Soo-Ah but the look on the maid's face was something unfamiliar. Upon seeing her former lady she let the basket fall and covered her face with her hands, sobbing hard.
Soo-Ah set herself free from the man's hold and came to check on her distraught friend. "What is this? What happened?" and she tried to get a look inside the compound but her view was obstructed.
"Oh, mistress!" and Bora hugged her. "The young lady...the pagoda…" The maid could not bring herself to stop crying.
Upon hearing this Soo-Ah let her go with the intent to get inside. But she was stopped by Bora who shook her head softly, while tears came rolling down those cheeks that used to be so jolly.
"Well, tell me. What happened?" From her angst, Soo-Ah took the distraught woman's shoulders tight in her hands and shook them a little too hard.
