Bright and early the next day, well before Bora would make an appearance, Soo-Ah dressed by herself in the soberest attire she possessed. When the servant finally showed up at the designated hour she shook her head, disapproving.
But Soo-Ah jumped in to say, "It would be a pity to soil those new summer dresses in the garden. Didn't I tell you I was planning to tend to Master Ho's flowers today?" She did her best to sound natural and truly surprised, in the hope her maid will take the bait.
"You mistress would require my help," Bora offered, barely opening her mouth. It was as clear as a sunny day she was not keen on offering such help.
"Oh, I could not bother you to help me. I am sure you have plenty on your hands already". After offering a kind smile Soo-Ah let out a breath of relief because relief was also etched on her maid's face.
