Synopsis

Overture

Hi, there reader! Thank you for stopping by.

HEART OF FLOWERS SWORD OF THORNS might be unlike anything else you found around here. Think of it as a story picked up from a bookstore, or depicted in a tv show. My intent was to create an epic journey for the character and to take you along with us.

This is a slow burn until one last final spark will be lit...

The book has a soundtrack associated that you can find here: tinyurl.com/hofsotsound (opens in Youtube Music player and lets you play the music in the background while on your phone) The songs are meant to be played in order - keep an eye out for the notes at the beginning of the chapters.

Blurb:

Soo-Ah was an orphaned baby, crying her heart out in her dead mother's arms, when Old General Min-Jun found her. He had waged enough wars, crippling lands, villages, and people. When absolution for his sins was presented to him, he saved the infant from certain death. For the few years of peace that followed, Soo-Ah will grow up in an idyllic setting, at the general's manor, in the countryside. A child, roaming the homely hills together with her friends, innocent about the realities of life. Until witnessing a scene in the bedchamber, unfit for such young eyes, where someone dear gives in to his carnal lust. Followed by invaders attacking her home. Such events left her traumatized, allowing hatred for the likes of men to take root inside her heart. And these were times of merciless kings, battles and gore, known as the Three Kingdoms of Korea. With war raging on again across their realm, her life continued on the edge of the battlefield. A girl, denying her true nature, reaching pubescence surrounded by male soldiers. A soldier in disguise, kept safe by her grandfather from the clash of battles. Becoming part of the troops and encountering new and old faces will shape her into someone unique, with enough courage to take on any challenge, except embracing who she is. But how can she overcome all that war and men will throw at her and how can she leave all of the familiar behind?
