Where am I? I don't know this place. I couldn't remember anything. It was like I didn't have any memories at all. I tried to get up from the ground but my body was weak. The best I could do was sit up for now. I looked around and all I could see was a forest. Laying on the ground next to me was a huge scythe. I reached my hand out to grab it and all of a sudden my head started pounding uncontrollably. Were these memory fragments of who I used to be? They showed glimpses of a battle with a shadow figure. I sat there trying to remember more but my mind just wouldn't let me. I placed my head in my hands to think and I felt what I thought were horns. As I examined them further they were indeed horns but not only that I had two black wings and a tail. 'What the fuck am I?' I thought to myself still unable to remember anything more. I grabbed the scythe and used it to stand myself up. My body was weak but I didn't know why.
The forest was quiet which I thought was strange. No animal sounds or anything. Next thing I knew that silence was broken when a 2-meter tall wolf came walking out from behind the trees. I gripped the scythe tightly not knowing what was going to happen. The wolf looks at me and then starts charging. I try to force myself to move but the wolf grabs ahold of my leg. Trying to beat it off me was proving ineffective. All I could feel was a pain as its fangs sunk deeper into my skin. I kept trying until I was able to swing the scythe forcing the wolf to let go. As I stand there bleeding the wolf tries coming in for another attack hoping to bring me down so I could become its dinner. I grasped the scythe tighter and swung it again but this time a wave of black energy flew toward the wolf cutting it in half. 'What the fuck was that?' I thought. Now that the wolf was taken care of I sat down to analyze what just happened. I knew I couldn't stay where I was and be prey for the next creature but I also didn't know where to go. I stood up again this time easier than the last. I decided to see if I could get my wings to work. At first, it was difficult not knowing which muscles controlled them but after a while, I figured it out. I gave my wings a few flaps and I was capable of coming off the ground about one meter before falling. I got back on my feet and kept trying until I was able to stay airborne. I rose above the trees to see if I could spot signs of civilization anywhere. There was a faint light from behind a mountain range to the north of me.
As I headed toward the mountains the light was getting brighter until I was able to see a massive city. I landed a little bit away from the gates as a precaution and walked the rest of the way. I couldn't hide my horns or wings so hopefully, nothing bad happens. As I walk through the gates the guards welcome me without concern. I looked around to see what the city had to offer. As I stand there basically staring off into space I could feel my head starting to hurt again. This time the memory fragments showed what looked like a night club and another shadow figure. As the pain subsided I walked around until I was able to find the nightclub. At first, I was hesitant to go inside but if I wanted to remember who I was I knew I had to.
When I walked inside I saw all manner of creatures and humans alike. Now I know why the guards didn't say anything about my appearance when I arrived. I sat down at the bar and observed everybody to get a feel for the atmosphere. Soon after I sat down a server came over and asked if there was anything they could get me. I looked at the server and before I could respond that familiar pain returned. This time I saw myself sitting down with somebody and talking with this same server. His look was slightly different than the memory fragments but I was sure it was the same person. I looked at the server and asked if I could ask him a question. I asked him if he knew who I was. He replied saying that he didn't but I was sure I knew him from before but couldn't remember the name I knew him by. I said I had one more question and asked him if his name was Satoshi. He looked at me with a puzzled look and asked how I knew that name. As I started to explain everything his eyes started getting bigger and a smile appeared on his face.
"Ryuu is that you?"
"Yes, it's me, Satoshi. I don't remember anything and I keep getting memory fragments from what I'm guessing is my past."
"I get off in a few hours and we can talk more about this and hopefully I can help you remember more."
"Okay."
I waited around the club until Satoshi was off work and when that time came we went for a walk together. I started by explaining the memory fragments I already had and what led me to the nightclub. Satoshi started explaining to me the memories he had of me. He said that I was in a polyamorous relationship with him and another boy. I asked who the other boy was but neither of us could remember. I asked him what we should do now? He turns to me, grabs my waist, and kisses me. I ask him what the kiss was for. He turns to me with tears running down his face and says I've been searching for both of you for so long. Right then the pain returned but this time it affected both of us. We each saw each other as a happy couple joined by a shadow figure. When the pain subsided we both looked at each other.
"Was that us?"
"It looked like our memories together but who was that shadow?"
"You said we were in a relationship with one other person, right?"
"Yes, I did. Do you think that was him?"
"I think so. We won't know for sure until our memories fully return though. I'm happy I found you through Satoshi."
"I am too Ryuu."
