Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 8

I closed my locker and jumped a little when I saw Ian right next time.

"Fuck man stop doing that!"

He laughed a little.

"My bad. You got my controller? I was kind of hoping to get it last night."

I pulled up my bag and practically slammed it in his hands.

"You left it there on purpose."

I stared at him, sending daggers with my eyes. I was upset with him for so many reasons. But right now it's because he called me while I was with Zach. But how could he have known I was with him? So I had no reason to bring it up.

He raised his hands up in defense.

"Guilty! Sorry I just was hoping I could get a surprise visit from you."

"It wouldn't have been a surprise, jackass."

He stayed quiet for a bit as he looked at me as if to figure out what I was thinking.

"Alright alright. My bad. Can't blame a guy for trying."

I can absolutely blame a guy for trying. And I am. Right now.

I looked over my shoulder to see the popular group, aka Zach. To my surprise he was looking back at me too. We locked eyes and without a second of thinking he smiled at me and I could see his hand move a bit as if to discreetly wave at me. My eyes widened at the gesture and I quickly started walking off to class.

The finale bell rang and just like yesterday I went out and looked for Ashley to give her the keys.

"Here you go Ashley. Thanks for letting me use the keys."

She took the keys out of my hand almost reluctantly, staring me down with a questioning look.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Ashley sighed and leaned forward getting close to my face.

"Don't you have something to tell me?"

"What do you mean?"

"About yesterday!"

Ashley yelled that a little too loud, attracting some attention from the passing students.

I thought back to yesterday.

That's right. She texted Ian I would be there and that's how he met up with me.

"Oh yeah. What the hell was that?"

I tried my best to keep my tone straight but just thinking about last night's encounter made me angry.

She coward a bit, and looked at me with puppy eyes in a sense.

"Well I just wanted to help," she said trailing off.

"No offense but I don't need your help."

Sometimes she can just be so annoying.

"Why did you do that?" I asked. "What made you think you just had to do that?"

"Because you guys are meant to be together! So what if I told him? Did you at least say yes?"

"No!"

"You said no?"

"Ashley, this has nothing to do with you! Just lay off. I never said I liked him and I'm not wanting a relationship!"

"Listen Jessica," Ashley sounded serious but I could feel her shaking a bit as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "Sometimes you just have to jump into things without a life coat. All I was doing was trying to help."

I shoved her hand off.

"I don't care! I'm not jumping! Next time, ask me before you do something like that!"

After that I stormed off not caring about the many people watching this. I walked over to the bus and got on practically fuming.

If she hadn't said anything, things would have been better for just a little longer! I probably wouldn't be in as big of a mess.

The bus stopped at my house and once I got in I walked in slamming the door. I ran into my room and dropped my bag off before falling onto my bed screaming into a pillow. I looked up and took in a deep breath.

"Whatever. It's all over. It's happened and all I can do now is just keep moving forward."

I got up from my bed seeing that some of my makeup smudged on my pillow. I got up and went to the bathroom to wash it off. When I got back to my room I looked at my Xbox and sighed, still feeling angry.

"It wouldn't hurt to kill a thousand aliens on Halo."

I slipped down to the ground and crawled up to my t.v and turned it on along with my Xbox. I put in 'Halo 3' and relaxed once I saw the title screen.

I looked over at my alarm clock and saw that the football game would start right about now.

"Good luck Zach."

I turned back to the screen and hit start.
