Chapter 4 - 3: Naara The Blind Sword?

Under the twilight sky, two people in blue robes complete with hoods covering their faces were seen walking down the path of a village, none other than Naara and Niin.  Niin who was walking behind Naara withered her head because Naara was still emitting an irritated aura to her.  Even though she had found Naarabo safely and repeatedly apologized but the man was still annoyed.  "Nudge a little, slash."  That's a short sentence describing Naara's current mood.

Haah ....

It was the hundred and one breaths she let out.

She now raised her head and studied the figure in front of her.  Until now she still didn't know anything about this man.  As she walked she wondered to herself.  There was a lot she wanted to know, especially about the man's eyes.  Is he really blind?  It was hard to believe that any more when remembering how that man had fought.

Haah ....

It was the hundred and second breath.

"Em?"  She turned to the crowd at three o'clock.  "What is wrong?"  Out of curiosity, she ran and joined the crowd while Naara who realized this stopped for a moment before resuming his steps.

Wow, it's hard to believe.

Yes.  Hard to believe.

Correct.

The words of the people in the crowd while paying attention to something up ahead made Niin even more curious about what they were talking about.  With great effort she slipped further into the crowd to see what was so interesting to them, but because there was too much of a crowd she had to be content when she got to the middle.  Vaguely she sees a board with some photos attached, that is… a wanted poster.  The heads in front made it difficult to see.

The blind sword's price has almost matched Reen GM.

The sentence that was said by that person immediately made her jolt.  Reen GM, if I'm not mistaken he is the second most wanted fugitive.

Hm.  I heard he's really brutal.

Hopefully we never meet him.

The chatter of the people in front was getting more and more intriguing so that she did various ways to see the figure being talked about, but just forget it.  The limitation in height made her have to give up.

On the other hand, Naara walked into a restaurant.  Standing in the doorway he became the center of attention of other customers, maybe because he hid his face under a hood and it looked suspicious.

Slowly he started walking toward a bench and sat there while the other customers began whispering about him.  Not long after he sat down, a young woman came over and asked what order he wanted to make.  The woman's tone sounded somewhat scared.

"A bowl of soup."

"O-all right."

The woman hurried off to get the order.

In the previous place, Niin just walked out of the crowd with a tired look.  "Huffth, it's a waste of time," she grumbled, pulling the hood over her head and wiping the sweat off her forehead.  While doing this, she returned to listening to the chatter of people who did not stop talking about the blind sword.

"Who the hell is he?"  She saw the orange sky above.  "Oh, yes, teacher !!"  because the blind sword, she forgot about Naara.  She quickly ran away from the crowd to find Naara.

"This way," She muttered as if she had her own clue to find Naara and sure enough, it didn't take her long to find the man.

"Master!"

With a happy face she approached Naara.  Of course, her arrival also did not go unnoticed by other customers.

"Hah, what's wrong?"  she muttered staring confusedly at the people around her.

"Sorry for the long wait."

The arrival of a young woman carrying a bowl of soup distracted her.

"Wow, soup!! I ordered a bowl too," she said excitedly.

"Good."

While waiting for the order, she rested her chin while tapping the table.  "Is he still angry?"  she thought,, noticing Naara who was eating.

"Hey what have you brought?"  asked a customer to another customer who had just arrived.

"Oh, this is Blind Sword's new poster."

Hearing the word 'blind sword' she immediately turned her head.  It seems that she is very interested in the conversation of the three men who are on the bench to Naara's right.  Call them A, B and C customers

"So I have set a new price again," said the A.

"Um, that's it. It says 700.050.000 Bowls here," replied the B confirmed.

"I heard the price has gone up because recently he has killed several anoa," said C, stirring the drink in front of him.

She who could no longer hold herself back, stood up and walked over to the three people.  "Em, excuse me! What are you talking about?"  she asked after standing by their side of the table.

For two seconds, the three men were silent while staring at Niin, they were a little surprised to remember that Niin was sitting with the person they thought was suspicious.

"What is wrong?"  Niin made a confused face.

"O-oh, we're talking about a new price for the Blind Sword," said A in his voice.

"Blind sword? Who?"  Niin asked who made the whole room blank before three seconds later the laughter of the people jumped as if there was something very funny.

"Hey Kid! Actually, what era did you live in? You don't know about the Blind Sword, he's the number three most wanted person today," said the old men who sat at the corner table.  He burst out laughing as if his neck had broken.

That is grossly exaggerating.

"Number three."  Niin returned to focus for a moment all laughter died down.

"Well, that's it. Over the past year, he has been talked about by many people. You could say, he is a fugitive who is on the rise," explained customer A.

"Fugitive on the rise?"

"From the news I heard, he was being hunted because he had killed one of the world's Generals. Since then his name has been talked about a lot."

"Th-impossible."  Niin made an expression of disbelief.  The one who can kill one of the world's generals?  That person must be very strong.  That was what was currently engraved in Niin's mind.

"Oh well, I also heard, that he and dozens of anoa had fought in a village in the east. The residents there witnessed how he slaughtered. Dozens of anoa were beheaded in just seconds," said customer C making a horrified expression.

On the bench next to them, Naara was looking down with his right hand clenched tightly against the fork he was holding.

The face that was under the hood of the robe had an irritated expression with white eyes glaring sharply.

"Ca-can I see it?"  asked Niin hesitantly.

"Sure."  Customer A held out his poster.

As soon as Niin's eyes widened, her expression was like someone who just had a heart attack.  Her head turned rigidly toward the person sitting at the next table.  Seeing that figure she could only forcefully swallow her own saliva.  So all this time she was following–

"Hey! What's the matter? Have you seen him?"

"Hah?"  Niin turned her head back.

"I-I–"

"The food came! Thank you for waiting," said the lady waitress cutting Niin's words.

With hesitation Niin walked to her table and sat down opposite Naara again.  She couldn't erase her current fear especially when she remembered the words of those people who said that the Blind Sword killed one of the world's generals.  She felt that she had wrongly dealt with Naara but if she thought about it, maybe not.  That's good, considering that the person who was hunting her right now was not just anyone.  As long as Naarabo was in her hands, she didn't have to worry about Naara.

She took one breath to neutralize her emotions and then began to prepare to eat the soup, but before the spoon entered her mouth, the movement of her hands stopped when a man with a grim body stood in the doorway.  From there the man seemed to grin.  I don't know what happened the atmosphere in the room suddenly felt tense.  Everyone's expressions looked very tense.

With certain steps, the man who has not been identified by name walked over to an aunt who seemed to be the owner of the restaurant.  It was clear that the aunt was very afraid of the man in front of her.

"You must already know the meaning of my arrival, hurry and pay your debt!"  said the man in the style of a loan shark.

With a trembling tone, the aunt apologized and said that she could not pay it all today.  While giving several bowls, she explained that was all she got from today's sales, but the man immediately became angry when she heard the explanation.

He threw all the bowls that the aunt gave him and then overturned a table making the whole room scared, all the customers seemed to run away, as if they didn't want to deal with that frightening man.  Now all that's left is Naara who still seems to be absorbed in enjoying her soup and Niin who seems to be watching with a tense and confused look.

"Mother!"  The young woman who served the customer approached and held the aunt's arm who looked limp.

The gaze of the grim man now turned to the young woman who looked down in fear.  The man looked at the young woman's body and then grinned.  "How about you give this daughter of yours in exchange for your debt," he said which made the mother and child stare in shock.
