At daybreak, there were growing patches of yellow, the sort of hue that was warm and bright at the same time. Though beneath the sheet of clouds was ash that deepened to steel - a suggestion that rain may play a part in the day to come - the morning sun tried to send its blessing by sending a shimmering ray over the horizon.
