The sunlight streamed through the gap of the curtains, adding an orange glow to the morning light, bringing the hope of a new day, every morning was a perfect sunrise.
I reached my hand out to the fabric, noticing how up close the light poured through every open space between fibers. The material was warm beneath my fingers, and when the sun flooded the room, painting the colors anew, I felt a little of those golden rays soak into my skin.
I breathed in deeply. Though the window was closed, I could smell the trees just outside. A smile spread over my face. It wasn't the fragrance of those blooms I detected, but green perfume on the drapes.
Marvel got up by the dazzle, brushing the blanket aside from his body. Above a silver tray on wheels I brought in with me, I poured his freshly brewed morning coffee into a cup. When I offered it to him while smiling, he paused in his tracks for a while, his frowning eyes were on me.
