"Goodbye, Angelo."
I gasped, rising from the pillows frantically. My eyes blinked, soaking wet from tears, and as they flew down to my cheeks, my vision should have brought my surroundings into a clearer display, but everything was still blurry.
"Angelo?" Marvel opened the door and came back with a glass of water and some pills on a small plate, both on a tray, while looking at me in confusion.
"No… I never meant to abandon you… I swear… Please forgive me… It's not like that… Please forgive me…"
"Angelo, what's wrong?"
Marvel put the tray on the table and as he noticed the bedsheets under my clenching hands had been grazed with some fine scratches of red stains, he dashed to my side.
Sitting down on the bed, my fingers should have been painful from abrasions, but numb as I could hardly feel anything. My lips were shaking, not sure if it was because of the incoherent words I rapidly spelled or it was just a completely vicious shiver, or both.
