A clacking sound faintly echoed in the corridor as Gilbert closed the door of Marvel's office, retreating for today. He sighed deeply, and then his eyes shifted to a man standing by the wall beside that door.
"What are you doing here?" Gilbert questioned that man plainly, not even surprised by the presence. "Did you try to eavesdrop on Boss and my conversation?"
"I'm not," the man balked, looking away. "This room is soundproof. I couldn't hear anything."
"So, you did try to eavesdrop," Gilbert shot, and the man who couldn't reciprocate was Tanaka, seeming sulky as he grunted quietly.
Saying something like that regarding his behavior, it seemed like he wanted Gilbert to catch what was with him on purpose.
It came out now, huh? Gilbert thought to himself.
