Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Training

I was rushing over to the training ground where I knew Carl was waiting for me. I had already finished my toast. I had to admit I was still pretty hungry, but I woke up late and I know I will end up throwing up anyways since the training is so intense I still remember my first day in training with Carl. He was ruthless! He put me a child through all of that intensity. On my very first day, I had to run around the mile track 30 times and he didn't allow me to take breaks, or else he would add another lap. The new training had left me hurting for weeks. Even now the pain is still there I just learned to live with the discomfort. What I needed now is to grow stronger and reclaim my throne to save my mother I needed to focus and remain uncomfortable. "Do you seriously think you are excused, princess? Being late is not good." He said with a teasing face. " Well now, you're late so today's exercises are 100 push-ups and 100 squats no complaints! If you fail to do one then one shall be added to your failures, is that clear! " He said with a stern face. I did complete the challenge and decided to do weight training. Lifting the heaviest trees and even attempting shifting into my wolf, but still she had not appeared. I guess Lycans are unpredictable. Our wolves can come out at 18 or sometimes much later. I heard that the later you shift the stronger your wolf, but if I was going to return to kill Serious I need her to win. I would need to train my wolf and shift. After finishing my first set of tasks and completing my weight training I couldn't find Carl anywhere on the training ground. I was listening to music while training so I was distracted, but Daniel the training ground supervisor who was still there said, "Carl stepped out to deal with rogues and is not here at the moment. He told me to tell you not to worry 'he will deal with those rogues and return soon'. Also, he left you some homework. He said that you have to do your 500 laps like always and since you overslept you have to practice your diving at the icy swimming pool located in the forest!" He said, quoting Carl's instructions. " What! Is he trying to kill me? The last time I went diving I almost died from hyperthermia! I am not doing it this time!" I shouted in disbelief. " Sorry, but you know Carl, if you don't do one thing he will add another exercise it has always been part of his style of training. " He said with a worried expression. Okay, fine! I'll do it." I said giving in to Carl's ridiculous demands. I made my way to the forest after running my 500 laps in only 15 minutes. The forest that surrounded the training ground was the only forest with a mysterious ice pool. "Damn it!" I said to myself while whining about the whole situation. The pool was well known as an icy pool that never melts because in that mountain it snowed at night and moonlight maintained the ice. There was much speculation that the pool belonged to the moon goddess. The most mysterious thing was that the pool reflected the moon throughout the year regardless of the phases of the moon it had frozen the full moon in time to never shift. Emma said that the pool was enchanted by soulmates. They had met up at that mountain, but one mate loved to swim and the other loved to observe her, so they decided to build a pool together. They loved that place where they could both be like yin and yang. Unfortunately, when the mate that loved to swim suffered an unexpected death her mate could not bear it and decided to curse the pool to always remain the same; as if telling the moon goddess that she would always remain the same just like the soulmates love. The one to help him with such a curse was the queen of the white witches. I honestly don't know if any of that is true or not, but it sure was a lovely tale for a little girl who had grown up with much traumas. I had always loved the stories surrounding the ice pool. After a while, I have finally arrived at the pool after hiking about three miles. I wasn't out of breath, since Carl has always trained me to be resilient and strong, but I was dreading the notion. I was walking looking up towards the tall pine trees trying to get a glimpse of the sky when suddenly I felt a weird sensation. I felt eyes on me. It alarmed me so I raised my guard up. I started to look around until I spotted a pair of eyes in between the green forest bushes. The most beautiful eyes I have ever seen I felt drawn to them as if they were the only ones I wanted to see for all of eternity. I wasn't scared since I knew I could defend myself in case of an attack. Our eyes made eye contact. It felt as if my whole self engulfed by this mysterious being. " Who are you?" I asked. But only silence remained.
