NO! PLEASE, SOMEBODY HELP ME!!

Two weeks earlier

So, are we all clear on the plan? Lucien asked.

YES! chimed a thousand voices.

Ok, get ready. We leave at 1800 hours. Lucien replied.

Lucien, can you please use normal time? someone complained.

No, I cannot. Lucien simply stated.

Ugh...fine, whatever. The person grumbled.

Anyways, Lucien sang, Yall need to go eat, shower, change, etc.

Right! everyone chirped.

And with that, the large crowd dispersed. Milling about in their own, different ways.

Two Hours Later

At six oclock, Lucien called everyone into the clearing. He was standing there with Kai standing at his side. In about five minutes, everyone was standing in columns, at attention. Lucien took three steps forward, stopped, then called, LEFT, FACE! Then he turned left, then called out another order, FORWARD, MARCH!

And with that they were off. They had been preparing for this day since the very first rebellion, over a year ago. And now, it was time. Time for the final battle. The final battle that would define the outcome of the war. It was now or never. Lucien just hoped that they were ready for this.

They had to be; if they werent, by the end of that week, they would all be dead or at the very least, seriously injured. This was the scariest day of their lives. Most of them had already accepted the fact that most likely, they wouldnt make it back home. But that doesnt mean they arent going to fight with everything in them, a lot of them had wives, husbands, parents, or children back home that they desperately wanted to see again. There was no way they were going to give up now.

They had come so far already, and they still had a long way to go. Even though this is the final battle, this one is going to be by far the most grueling one. They had managed to boost their numbers by almost a thousand people. Thanks to the people they had on the inside, they knew that the Remainders werent focused on their fighting skills, but more on their numbers. Which means that the Fighters had an advantage there. Thats almost all they focused on.

Their fighting skills, survival skills, and their stamina was almost as high as it could get, considering who their trainers were. They were going to win this war; they had too. During this battle, they had to find the weak point in the Remainders battle strategy. If they didnt, they would surely be slaughtered.

They may have the advantage in skill, but they were at a major disadvantage when it came to the number of boots on the ground. The Remainders outnumbered them two to one. They hoped that three thousand highly trained Fighters would be able to win against five thousand rookie Remainders. Even though they had more people, the Fighters had more skill. Meaning that they could take down three or four of the enemy before they could take down one of them.

Three hours later

They had been marching for what seemed like forever. Most of them were growing tired, for it was almost ten oclock. But they were stubborn, they had to press onwards. They had five people go on ahead two weeks before and set up check points. That way, they would know just how far they had to go each day.

They were almost to the first check point. There were five more check points to go before they got to where they needed to go. Once they got there, if would be time for the final battle. The one that would decide the final outcome of the war. Lucien just hoped that they were ready. This may be their last chance to win the war.

Two hours later

They finally made it to the first check point. They were so tired, but they had finally made it. Sadly, they only had till tomorrow morning to rest before they had to continue on their journey. Only five more days until they would be ready to attack the Remainders base camp. They would get where they need to be in four days, but they couldnt be expected to attack them after walking for five days. So, the fifth day was strictly for rest.

Meanwhile, at the first checkpoint

The six rebels were sitting in a circle around a fire with Lucien, Kai, and three more Fighters. A man, Killian Black, and two women, Wynter and Freya Smith. They were telling stories and having fun. Dante and Samara were telling the story of their last normal night, where they had all gotten drunk. The four Fighters were cracking up and Rivin was sitting there, red-faced.

Oh my god! I cant picture Rivin doing that!! Kai shrieked.

I know!!! Wynter howled.

Heeyyyy...its not THAT funny... Rivin complained.

yes, it is! Killian giggled.

It really is... Freya and Lucien snickered in unison.

Rivin rolled his eyes then got up to go talk to some of the other Fighters. As soon as he was out of hearing range, all ten of them burst out laughing. They had a long journey ahead of them, might as well make the best of it while they can.

Lucien checked his watch, then stood up. He said he was going to turn in for the night and suggested that everyone else did the same. And with that, he and Kai walked away. Everyone thought it would be a good idea to get some shut eye, they had a long days journey tomorrow anyways. So, in just a few minutes, every Fighter was in their tent, either sleeping or trying to fall asleep.

Four days later

Everybody was up and ready to go. Today was the day, they were going to ambush the Remainders base camp. They had been separated into groups of ten. But they werent going to just rush in blindly. They had a plan.

They were going to send in a group of people, who were posing as neutrals who want to convert to the Remainders side. They had it all planned. The group of people that were going to infiltrate the enemy base were Freya, Killian, Aki, Dante, and Kai. They purposefully made themselves dirty, they tore their clothes, and messed up their hair. They had to make it look real.

Two hours later

The five rebels made it into the enemy camp. Everything was going smoothly. They had fooled everyone. They were given new clothes and everything. The five of them were given a little cabin to sleep in. The rebels planted a huge bomb in their cabin, later that night, they were going to sneak out and detonate it.

The other Fighters were waiting just out of sight, on the other side of the hill in the woods. The bomb detonating was the signal for them to charge. They were waiting until night fall. They would be able to see because they had planted phosphorus in the bomb. So, when it exploded, it would light up the entire area.

Later that night

The sun was setting. Time to put their plan into action. The five of them snuck out of their cabin and hid behind a large boulder about sixty feet away from their cabin. When they were ready, Aki pushed the button on the detonator. When she did, they all hit the ground and covered their ears. They waited for the explosion, but nothing happened. They hesitantly stood up and peeked over the boulder.

Ugh... Ill go check it out... Freya muttered.

No! The other four rebels yelled.

But it was too late; she was already running towards the cabin. She opened the door and hurried inside. She wasnt in there for more than a few seconds before they heard a high pitch whistle. The bomb was about to detonate. They all screamed for her to get out. The door flung open, and there she stood. Terror was written on her face. She opened her mouth to scream but never got the chance.

The bomb detonated. The cabin burst into flames. The sound was deafening. The four rebels dove to the ground and shielded their heads. After a minute, they stood back up. They stood there in shock, staring at the remains of the cabin. What was Freya thinking. She shouldve known better than to run back in immediately. That lapse of better judgment had just cost Freya her life. But there wasnt any time to morn. The four of them, grabbed their weapons and ran off. The thousands of Fighters were running over the hill right now, screaming fiercely. It was time.

6 hours later

Aki, Leviathan, Killian, Lucien, and Kai were all fighting in the same area. It was getting really hard to fight because they kept tripping over dead bodies. The Fighters were winning at the moment, but it might not stay that way. Everyone was getting tired, which means they were getting sloppy.

There were more Fighters than Remainders now, so it looked like that had it in the bag. It was three in the morning and everyone was really tired, but the adrenaline was keeping them on their feet. They had to last just a little bit longer, just a couple more hours. Just a few more hours and they will have won.

Lucien ran off after a Remainder that was trying to get away. Kai smelled a rat, so he followed. Kai rounded the corner, and saw Lucien fighting the Remainder. Kai stayed out of sight, waiting. He was positive that this was a trap. Sure enough, another Remainder dropped out of a nearby tree, on top of Lucien. Kai yelled and rushed forward, swinging his weapon around in the air.

He knew that Lucien couldnt take both of them by his self. Kai swung his weapon and it connected with the Remainders arm, severing it almost completely off. The Remainder screamed and jumped back. His arm was now hanging by a tiny piece of skin, with blood gushing everywhere. He was laying on the ground, shrieking in agony. Kai turned to help Lucien fight and what he saw, terrified him.

Lucien was fighting two Remainders and there was three or four more running towards them. Kai immediately jumped into action. He rushed towards the Remainders that were running towards them. He drew his weapon and started swinging it. After a couple minutes, he had killed two of them, and was working on the final two.

Lucien was still trying to get in a fatal blow with the Remainder he was fighting. The man was the biggest person he had ever seen. Lucien was seriously struggling; he was getting tired and he was covered in bruises and gashes. He really needed Kais help, but he knew he couldnt ask because Kai was busy fighting two more people. Scratch that, one more person.

Kai finally killed the final Remainder. He immediately went to help Lucien. Together, they finally managed to kill the man. Once the man was dead, Lucien grabbed Kai and pull him closer, pressing his lips against his. When they finally broke the kiss, Kai just happened to glance behind Lucien.

Kai gasped and threw himself in between Lucien and the Remainder who was about to swing his weapon. Lucien turned around in time to see a large, sharp sword go through Kais gut. Blood started gushing out of Kais mouth. The remainder yanked his sword out of Kai and laughed. Lucien roared in rage, drew his dagger, and attacked the man.

The man didnt have enough time to even react to Luciens movements before Luciens dagger went completely through the mans throat and came out the other side. The man looked Lucien in the eye, jet black blood came gurgling out of his mouth. Lucien smiled at the man, then ripped his dagger out of the mans neck. The man fell face first, with a thump. He twitched for a few seconds then finally stopped.

Lucien dropped his dagger and ran over to Kai. He slowly lifted Kais head up. Kai opened his eyes and looked at Lucien.

K-kai... please... dont die... Lucien sobbed.

Shhh, love. Its ok. I love you Kai whispered.

Kais eyes fluttered closed and Lucien screamed in heartbreak.
