David places the tray of food next to his father's bedside table and then looks at his father's limp sleeping body.
"I never saw you sleeping so peacefully before," David speaks leaning close to his father's body. "I never imagined you could become so pitiful, dad. The man who always aimed high and had people running around under his gaze... You look so pitiful for someone I knew." David heaves a sigh. "I am sorry for what is going on with you. I am sorry I can't be of your help as much as I want to."
David's eyes travel to the plate of food lying on the bedside table. A fly was hovering above it and soon it settled on the plate.
David's eyes move back to his father's sleeping body but he finds that he wasn't asleep anymore but watching David with wide eyes.
David quickly bends his body and leans closer to his chest. "Dad..."
"Dabit?" His father croaks out.
"It's me, dad... It's David."
