"... Where... am I?"
Alfraed's feeble voice quivered as he posed a question, but to his dismay, there was nobody in sight to offer a response.
As he came to the unsettling realization that he was the only person in the room, the young man carefully surveyed his surroundings. Above him loomed an ornate ceiling adorned with a magnificent chandelier. The walls were adorned with paintings whose meanings eluded him, adding to the air of confusion. The opulent furniture, so out of place with his own simple tastes, further emphasized the stark contrast between his everyday life and this unfamiliar setting.
Alfraed found solace in the fact that, despite being in an unfamiliar location, he was relieved not to find himself confined in a dungeon or incarcerated in a jail.
"... How did I get here?"
