The floating shadows gazed upon the frozen mortals beneath them. It was natural, the shadows, after all, were of higher existence.
The mortals, these undeserving creatures were no different than a swarm of filthy insects that trespassed into their yard. Disgusting, and must be disposed of at once.
The shadows unlocked their monstrous jaws, and the soldiers felt as if any hope in their hearts was swallowed into an abyss. They knew the tide of battle would be overturned.
Every fraction of raw energy gathered on their opened maws and their figures radiated like a sun. The accumulating energy disrupted the atmosphere and distorted the space around them. They violated the law of nature. A moment later, spheres of unimaginable intensity matured.
