Last night's long hours left Xiaodie indulging in a rare lie-in today. Shen Fu didn't disturb her, and he tiptoed out of the bedroom.
Just as he reached downstairs, he saw Old Chen acting all sneaky outside the courtyard.
"Hey, Shen, up so early?"
Shen Fu invited him in, wondering if this guy was here to mooch off a meal.
Turns out Chen Han was only there to check in on Hao Lilai's granddaughter as per her ladyship's recent instructions.
"Xiaodie hasn't woken up yet?"
"Yeah, she's not working, so it's fine if she sleeps a bit longer," yawned Shen Fu.
Old Chen read a lot into that yawn. Young people these days, no restraint!
"Right, last night Long Xixi and Oscar came over to my place," Old Chen began recounting the previous evening.
Shen Fu perked up, "Didn't scare you out of your wits, did they?"
"Nah, it's not the first time. As if I'd let them scare me. Coincidentally, I was applying a face mask; I nearly gave them a good fright."
