But Xiaodie didn't slap him; instead, she tenderly threw herself into his arms, leaving Shen Fu with the illusion that there was nothing between him and his sister-in-law, and he was simply taking care of her for his wife.
Shen Fu knew that she craved an embrace.
His hand finally came down, tightly holding his wife, "It's good you're back."
As if celebrating Xiaodie's return, the rain suddenly eased and soon ceased entirely, the night gradually receded, and the clouds began to turn white, as though preparing for the upcoming sunrise.
"Xiaodie, are you cold?" Shen Fu asked, suppressing a tremendous sense of guilt.
"A little, where are we exactly?"
