This Sunday was particularly hot outside. Not the usual June weather in Louisville. Samara stepped out of her BMW truck before grabbing the bouquet of balloons that was in the back seat. Samara was six months pregnant today and it was her daughter Ari's 5th birthday. The party had been planned for months , but today she was wishing she had opted for something smaller. Samara struggled a little with the balloons as she entered her back door and into her kitchen.
"Nigga got you good and pregnant" Hakim stated, not moving to help Samara. "Then left your ass huh?" he laughed.
It took everything within Samara not to go from zero to one hundred on her ex- husband; he was a fuck boy at his finest. He had known for a while that she had been pregnant, courtesy of little motor mouth Ari;otherwise he would have not known. No one knew except Samara's close friends and family. Samara owned a small realty company and had the luxury of working from home. Whenever she did go out in public, she sported loose fitting clothes that concealed her pregnancy gains. With Hakim, it's not like he cared that another man had gotten her pregnant, he was just an asshole who loved making Samara feel like shit.
"Hakim, dont. I don't have time for this shit today. Today is about our daughter.
Can we just make it through this party?"
Before Hakim could reply to Samara, Tristan came barging into the kitchen.
" Yeah bitch ass nigga, you heard what my good sis said. You sure you want this
smoke on the Lord's day?" Tristan questioned, staring Hakim down.
Hakim hopped down from his chairstool. "I never liked your ass" he scoffed at Tristan as he made his way out of the kitchen.
"Ditto bitch" Tristan shot back before turning her attention to Samara who was now in tears.
"I can't do this by myself , T." Samara stated in a defeated tone. "I'm 28, on baby number 2...no husband, hell no man at all".
Samara could no longer fight the sea of emotions she felt behind her break up with Will. She thought he was different-- she believed he was different, until he wasn't. He had violated her heart just like Hakim had done all those years ago. Samara hated herself for giving yet another man the power to ruin her . She had willingly let down the walls she had built around her heart for Will. She trusted him and was confident that he wouldn't hurt her. But he had.
"I just don't understand why this shit always happens to me . Am I not a good woman?" Samara continued, the question being rhetorical as she leaned over the island with her face buried in her hands.
"You're a damn good woman 'Mara. Niggas don't deserve you out here" a deep baritone voice stated matter of factly.
It was him; it was Will. How was he here right now? Of course he would come. He never missed Ari's birthday, Samara thought.
"Oh shit"Tristan snickered. " I'm going to find me some business. I'll get the kids started with some games" she said, grabbing the tray of goodie bags off the table as she made her exit.
Samara stood up straight, flattening the wrinkles out of her sundress, still with her back towards Will.
"Wh--who invited you?" Samara stammered, heart racing. Will eased up behind Samara- he couldn't help it, she was looking super thick in that sundress. She felt his cool breath on her neck and it sent chills up her spine. This man lit her soul on fire, she could never deny that.
" I didn't know I needed an invitation to come see my favorite girl" Will replied, his manhood hardening against her behind.
Samara's panties instantly soaked. It had been at least 7 months since she had felt this man inside of her, and the way her hormones were set up, she would fuck Will right there, right now. Fuck this party, fuck Hakim and fuck these kids.
"Look." Samara said abruptly, turning around and pushing Will away from her.
Will initially thought that Samara was trying to get him out of her personal space. However, as his eyes followed hers and landed on her little round belly, he almost lost it.
"Yooooo….what the fuck 'Mara? You're pregnant?" Will questioned in disbelief.
Samara couldn't stop the crocodile tears that fell from her eyes.
"We're having a baby" she said , rubbing her protruding belly, eyes lowered, focused on her pretty pink toenails in her sandals because she couldn't look this man in his eyes. He made her weak everytime. Will closed the space between them.
"You're having my baby ma." he stated, smiling ear to ear. Will planted a kiss on Samara's forehead, before lifting her chin with two fingers and kissing her deeply.
"Baby, let me come home" Will pleaded.
In this moment, he could care less about Erica being pregnant too. Not that he would not take care of their child as well, but here with Samara is where he wanted to be. He was a little upset that she had not told him sooner, he would have been here for her, whether she wanted him too or not. He didn't want to miss out on another doctor's appointment, another opportunity to spoil and cater to her like a queen because well, she was his queen.
"What about Erica? She's having your child too. "Samara protested. Admittedly, it hurt her like hell to make that statement. She wanted to be the only one who was carrying Will's seed.
"I will always take care of my responsibilities baby. You know me. But my heart is with you. I love you, and want nothing else but to have a family with you. You are home" Will explained sincerely.

You have reached the voicemail of---- Erica pressed the red button to end the phone call. Where the fuck is this nigga? Erica thought to herself. Hours had passed since Will left her apartment saying he was going to meet up with his sister for lunch and then go visit their mom.
Erica took a few moments to gather herself as she scrolled through the contacts on her phone then pressed the call button.
"Hey Erica" Bria greeted dryly.
Bitch, Erica thought before returning the greeting." Heyy sis", she said with enthusiam, knowing damn well she could not stand her ex sister in law. "Is Will around?"
There was a long pause, before Bria answered." Why would he be with me? I'm in Dallas right now with our mom. A trip he passed on to stay home with you and ya'll baby" Bria stated with annoyance.
She and Erica had never been close. Erica always felt as though Bria and Will's mom thought that she wasn't good enough for Will.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Its just that he left his phone here and I needed him to come home because I'm not feeling too well" Erica lied.
"Well he's not here" Bria stated. "Maybe he's with Samara and Ari. He never misses Samara's daughter's birthday" she added smugly, knowing that bit of information would bother Erica.
"Ok, thanks" Erica said quickly before ending the call. She had
the urge to call Bria everything but what her mama named her.
This negro better not be with Samara. I am going to flip shit, Erica thought as she slid into a pair of Nike Air Max's, grabbing her car keys and jetting out the front door.
