"We embrace back to back~
Abusing silence with a roar~"
Some people you occasionally miss when they're not around, but once they really come back, they can become annoying—like Xu Shi'an, for instance.
The singing from the bathroom sounded like the roar of a mermaid, probably that of a middle-aged version from the movies, making Xu Qing frown and silently scheme about how to send this guy back to school sooner.
For decades, he never quite figured out what a "back-to-back embrace" looked like. Whenever he heard those words, what came to mind was the image of Kayako, whose arms could bend backwards at ninety degrees.
"Dad! Did you miss us when my sister and I weren't around?"
Shi'an emerged, towel-drying his hair, and he indeed enjoyed being at home with his elderly father and mother—of course, mainly for Jiang He's cooking.
"Hmm."
Xu Qing responded with a hum and after a while said, "Didn't you want to go traveling with Xiaoxiao?"
