In the afternoon, Jiang He came home to find only Xu Shi'an at home, cradling a beautifully crafted box with a silly, happy grin.
"Where's your dad?"
"He's gone to some event," Xu Shi'an said, not particularly interested. He carefully opened the box and took out a piece of chocolate, "Mom, try one!"
Jiang He took it and after unwrapping it, she popped it into her mouth—it was quite delicious... She had always been fond of sweets.
"Is it from Xiaoxiao?"
"Mm."
"Give me another one!" Jiang He reached out.
Xu Shi'an wasn't having it and hugged the box tightly, "Let my dad buy you some."
"As if I'm desperate for it," she retorted.
Jiang He pouted, lamenting that she had raised a son who couldn't even spare a piece of chocolate.
"Where's your sister?"
"She's gone out to play with her girlfriends."
"Oh," Jiang He acknowledged and walked around the house. Opening the fridge to look inside, she found no leftovers, "What did you guys have for lunch?"
