After investigating Yang Liwei's background, they came to realize that the boy was an orphan.
They both married when they were in their early to mid-'30s because of their careers and had a daughter who was older than Yang Liwei by four years. After their first child, they tried many times to conceive another baby but were not successful due to Qin Yiran's stressful schedule affecting her body along with her aging.
"Honey, should we adopt him? I want to adopt him. He is so kind and obedient. He won't even trouble us." Qin Yiran pleaded with his husband as soon as they left the hospital room after spending some time with Yang Liwei.
"We have been trying to get a boy for so many years. And now it is almost impossible to even conceive another girl." She continued explaining her point.
Liu Huian understood where his wife was coming from. He gave it some thought while they were returning to their house. Even he wanted a son.
"Well, I think it is not a bad idea. We not only get a son, it'll even be beneficial for both of our careers. Anyways it's not like we are lacking in money and can afford to feed one more mouth."
So both of them decided to adopt Yang Liwei as it will not only give them a mature and kind son but also draw them in golden light in front of the world.
'An empathetic actress along with her kind assemblyman husband adopting an orphan boy rather than sticking to the notion of your-own-blood.'
But they were not inhuman, so they asked Yang Liwei about his opinion who agreed to the arrangement as the owner of the orphanage explained to him that he was getting a family and he should choose a better future instead of staying at an orphanage.
One particular thing that the old owner told him got stuck in his mind.
'Choose people who choose you.'
In a few days, all the necessary procedures for adoption were completed. And as soon as they were done, they left the city back and moved towards their destination – the capital.
While sitting in-between both Qin Yiran and Liu Huian, Yang Liwei was expressionless while looking out of the window from time to time and then back to his hands.
Looking at his small adorable face Qin Yiran took his hands in her two big hands while assuring him, " Don't worry, everything will be alright. Now you are our son and a part of our family of three."
As the little boy looked up to her beautiful face with a little nervousness, she continued, "Well, don't feel that you are an outsider. We love you and consider you a part of our previously incomplete family."
Hearing his wife, Liu Huian looked at his son and smiled, "Your mother is correct, now you are a Liu. And your name will be Liu Wei from now on."
Both husband and wife had yearned for a baby boy and they were quite happy to get Yang Liwei as their son. They honestly wanted to raise and care for him.
Yang Liwei now Liu Wei finally calmed his heart and nodded at his parents while the car reached the airport where they were supposed to board their plane to return to their house in the capital, city B.
Boarding the plane, he knew that after landing, his life is not going to be the same. And to embrace it fully, he had to be prepared mentally.
[And suddenly, You know…. It's time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings.]
