After his little "motivation" the room became dead silent. It's as if the two of us were taken aback by what just happened. It was too quiet actually. It almost feels refreshing have to hear the silence however the sound of sand dripping from the hourglass continued to fuel my anxiety.
Little by little the sand from the top slowly depleted, showing that time is running out. Each time the sand drops make a sound, it feels like the hands of death touches me in my skin, their sharp claws, waiting for me to fail and end up in the ground.
Why am I so anxious now! What the hell! I wasn't this anxious before but ever since that hourglass appeared, it's made me feel so uneasy like there's a sense of dread lingering around my shoulders. This has to be his plan or something, ever since that blasted hourglass came here, I've been feeling this! This is getting annoying.
I quickly glared at him who's quietly reading a book in the corner with his legs crossed and a smoke pipe in hand. Seems like he's really comfortable with his stay here, isn't he? He's acting as if this is his home or whatever.
He then looks above his book to see me glaring at him, making him smirk for some reason. "Can I help you, Meghan? You seem to be rather focused on me. Am I that gorgeous for you not to look at or do you jus-"
"HELL NO!" I interrupted him before he starts a whole monologue about how he's handsome and smart and how he's a great guy. Seriously this egotistical asshole talks a lot that I think he likes the sound of his voice. "I was staring because I want you to remove that stupid hourglass! I don't know what you're plan is but it's seriously knocking me off my concentration if I have to hear the sand hitting the glass."
"Well duh. It's an hourglass. It's supposed to do that. If it didn't do that then it wouldn't be called an hourglass wouldn't it?" He responded in a sarcastic manner, making me grip tightly on my blanket, ready to punch him.
"You're lucky that I'm currently bedridden right now because I swear to god that when I have the strength, I can literally send you flying to where you belong." I threatened him, though he didn't take it seriously, even finding it amusing.
"Dear, the fact that you have the energy to fight with me like this. I'm really not surprised that you have heart disease. I mean you do know that stress is one of the things that lead to early death right? You really need to chill out sometimes ya?" He responded so condescendingly but the dagger to his words added an extra punch, especially what he said was true.
"Well. If this heart disease didn't exist, then you wouldn't have spawned here because of my negative emotions and I wouldn't have to deal with your annoying mouth running up the scenes as well, wouldn't it?" I clapped back, replying condescending as well. It's better to give him a taste of his own medicine the slacker!
"Eh. If your issue was the fact that you're bedridden then why don't we actually fix that?" He suggested, making my eyes light up from what he proposed to me.
"Wait?! What?! You're serious! You can actually make me not bedridden?! That's possible? Why didn't you say so! If that happened then I could easily just get someone out of here and then this will be a piece of cake to do, you know!" I suggested to him with my eyes sparkling! Awesome, who knew this asshole was actually useful for once.
"Hmm.. it can happen but I'm not saying that I can do it actually. There are specific requirements for me to do that though I think I can do it with time." He tells me, making me sigh in relief.
Excellent! This is great! I can see our plan coming into fruition, once I get the ability to stand up and run and get out of there. I can seduce some lowlife guy and then try to kiss them, with this. I can easily just get the souls, I need and bingo! New life and a new beginning! I don't have to rot and die here alone and I can actually get revenge from those bastards who just left me here to die.
"By the way, I'm not guaranteeing that I can do this by the way. I'm honestly not sure if you have enough negative emotions for me to use my powers. I mean your anger barely keeps my physical body as it is so, ya. I'm not making any promises." He informs me beforehand, giving me a slap of reality.
"I'll take what I can get. I mean it's better than nothing also wait! The reason you piss me off is that you need my anger to keep yourself from coming back to the pendant? Is that way you're an asshole?" My eyes lighten up, coming into a realization. Maybe he doesn't really act like this and he studied me and how I get annoyed so that he can feed the right triggers!
"Ah no. Heavens no. I act like this normally, you're just the one that's annoyed by me. Which isn't my problem so.." He responded, breaking my hope that he isn't actually an arse. HE IS ONE after all.
"Anyways, just tell me when you can do it or something. I'm going to start planning on what to do once it happens so that when I do get it, I'll know what to do. Got it?" I commanded him, he nodded, approving of my request, and proceeded to go back to his seat.
I straightened up my back and sighed, relaxing. As soon as I emptied my mind, suddenly a knock on the door was heard. "Pet therapy! Coming through! Can we come in?"
Oh boy.. what..? Who are those people?!
"
